Anyone else feel like they need to paint their mic top black to match the sunrider now?
Yes, I considered this. I would think a thin spray of bedliner would be an ideal coating for the mic top without adding too much weight.

If the sun is out I might install my sunrider this weekend.

Passed the rain test today. Waiting for someone else to power wash it first

First Rain Test, I found a puddle and a drip trail. Didn't find the entry point.

Second Rain Test, there was a much smaller puddle and no drip trail. Opened the top and didn't find any water sign around the header or seals. Felt into nooks and no moisture.

🤷‍♂️ Will keep at it until I find the issue.

Ran the Bronco through the car wash today, first time with the Sunrider. Didn't find any leaks, was happy about that.

I installed my Sunrider a couple weeks ago. My Bronco is living in the garage waiting for new tires, so I have only drive it about 6 miles with the top installed. I ended up using a thinned steel washer in place of the plastic washers as described in this thread. I didn’t want to go with no washers. It was a cold day when I installed it, I had an issue with the plastic on the back pulling up when trying to latch the top closed. I left the truck out in the sun with the top unlatched (about an inch shy of closed) to let the top stretch, when I closed it the plastic was pulling up a bit. After a couple more days in the sun it seems ok now. If I still lived in Phoenix it would’ve been plenty hot to stretch on the first day 🥵 I haven’t had it out in the rain or washed the truck yet, but I don’t expect any leaks. I also don’t have any opinions of the road noise vs my hard top panels. Overall I’m pleased with the top, time will tell if it lasts.

Any photos?
The first two pictures are with the plastic washer installed.

This last picture is with the steel washer but the non stretched top pulling the back up. It has since settled back down since the top stretched in the sun.

How much extra work does it take to remove the entire top with this installed? Any chance of running the sun rider with the rear top removed altogether?

The Sunrider is held to the truck with 4 bolts and to the rear top section with 4 more. The four bolts to the truck would be fine without the rest of the top, but I think the rear bow that bolts to the plastic top couldn’t take it without twisting.

Following this thread, thinking about getting one too.

What was the issue?

For those with an imperfect fit / gap were you 2dr or 4dr?
Sorry for the delay, the top that I received was damaged. There was some plastic pieces inside the box so I sealed it up and shipped it back. Bestop was very accommodating. I decided to wait until they got through some of the older inventory so I just recorded today. I'll post once I install the top.

I decided to order the Twill based on responses from people on this thread, having good/great experiences. Also, Bestop has responded on this thread and seems to be working to make things right for folks who have had issues with their top. đź‘Ť

I will continue to watch for updates from those who have experienced issues. Reality is, things happen. No excuses, just expectations and understanding.

When a company steps-up to take good care of their customers, it says a lot about that company.
My experience with the BESTOP so far has been positive.

I took mine for a drive today, I really liked having the top open and windows down on a nice sunny day.
