I just finished up a horrible experience with my ’23 WT. Hit some puddles last week and all of a sudden I lost power, engine wouldn’t idle w/o pressing the gas pedal and the dash lights were blinking like crazy (collision, wrench, check engine, to name a few). I nursed it home and it smelled as if there was electrical components burning so left it outside for a while. After it cooled down, I started it and it ran fine but still had the Engine Light illuminated. Took it to the dealer and they naturally couldn’t find anything wrong but stated they couldn’t perform much troubleshooting because of aftermarket parts installed. I have 4,141 miles on it now, after the dealer drove it, and the check engine light is no longer illuminated. My modifications are: Burger CAI, Turbosmart BOV, Oil catch can and CVF exhaust (flange back w/OEM Cats). Mods have been installed for 11 months with no issues. The dealer charged me a $175 diagnostic fee which I feel is BS since it’s under “warranty” which the dealer says they won’t honor because of the aftermarket parts- only Ford performance parts are honored for warranty work/claims. I cannot express how disappointed I am with Ford. After calling Ford customer relations, they told me they’d touch base with the dealer and the dealer would reply back. I feel like I’m getting jerked around and find it hard to believe that puddles and rain would take out my “off road” vehicle, which I’ve never had issues with before. Has anyone else had these issues? Any recommendations?
