Water Fording depth and Active Grill Shutters?

It looks like all the trims have active grill shutters except for Badlands. Someone yesterday mentioned that having those shutters limits water fording depth, and only the Badlands is good for 33.5...but I can't figure out how it would limit it. Is that right? Would having the shutters limit how deep you can ford? I have never crossed anything deeper than 2 feet or so, but it's important to have some extra space for safety margin and the truck will definitely see water crossings. Do the shutters limit it?

Hmm... not sure but it might. Ford offers a factory snorkel for the Everest SUV in Australia, but not for the bronco. The Everest is old and may not have active grill shutters. Something to ponder

The AGS vanes are not water tight and have no impact on water fording depth.

The fording depth for the Raptor is 32" and it has the shutters.

I'm not sure I see why the shutters would impact fording depth? Maybe I'm missing something.
