When reading in the F-150 forums to find problems before I bought mine, I saw a lot about the new "mod" motors being noisy. My 08 5.4 makes lots of "clatter" on cold start up after warm it calms down but is still there. I think its just a combo of injector, timing chain tensioners, cam phaser, etc.
Run 'er till she blows is my motto. ?

Maybe. Our escape does not make the whine my fusion does, neither did my old fusion
(granted, both of them were 2.0 EB's). My 14, 5.0 makes very little "noise" and as quiet as the Roush
blower is, I can still hear just a slightest blower whine after it settles down from high cold idle
(over whatever noise this 5.0 does make). No other noises on that 5.0, that I say to myself,
"wow, that's pretty obnoxious" (did get BBQ tick for almost a day once, when car sat for 8 months).

Scorpion roller rockers would drive some crazy I suspect, talk about noisy.

Which is one of the reasons why I replaced the exhaust on my truck in an attempt to disguise all the engine racket. Unless you've actually heard all noises coming from a gen 3 Coyote you can't really compare it to everything else. LOL

My 2.0 gdi in my 2012 focus had a clicky idle. I figured it was the DI and the mechanical fuel pump

Yeah, crazy quiet. I don't have any other mods, not even a catback and trapped 126 with just the blower.
I did get a VMP tune, which after a couple initial hiccups, drives like a stock V-8 in
the 500 CI range. Roush kit might as well have been straight from Ford.
Many of the parts had Ford tag/PN's on them.

It could even be too much low end torque on a techncial rock crawler in
certain situations. I'd probably go centrifgual on a bronco if I had the option
of a 5.0 and wanted more, much more linear.
