They're not to see, they're to *be* seen.

They add conspicuity, and additional symmetrical lighting, especially that which is pushed to the outside edges of the vehicle, enhance other people's ability to mentally calculate closing distance of an approaching vehicle.
gee, i thought that’s what the side marker lights were for.

if you’re close enough to see them, you should start getting worried.

First time I've heard that. Excellent point.

The "Triangle" or "T" of light setup is well documented in the motorcycle community. When you have just one headlight, people can't naturally judge closing speeds or size... but if you add another couple lights, it creates a geometric relationship that changes size (enlarges) as the object approaches.

The rate that the object gets bigger is representative of how fast they are closing in on you. This mental calculation happens naturally.

Obviously, two headlights on a vehicle already achieve this to some degree, but by adding two additional fog lights (or I guess, one high cyclops light) to create a closed geometric shape, it helps the person who's deciding whether or not to pull out in front of you, judge whether you're a big truck moving slowly far away, or a near-by Bronco closing in fast.

Anec-data:
I saw are marked decrease in people pulling out in front of me when I added two lower lights to my motorcycle. Strikingly so. Not only did people no longer pull out in front of me nearly as much, more and more people actually waited until I went past when they would have had plenty of time to pull out in the first place.

The truck "marker lights" just aren't bright enough to achieve this goal, especially when they are so easily washed out by headlights. They are more for slow speed, oncoming adjacent lanes, or when you're generally not trying to occupy the same space. You really need something that is equal in intensity to the headlamps to perform the duty I explained here.

It seems a little weak that there are no included fog lights with the modular bumper. The price-point is there and what modern, mid-level and up vehicle doesn't include fog lights? Just feels like a cop out. I know they will be easy to include with the auxiliary switches, but they should be included and on the steering column like every other new vehicle. If they are actually included, please send me some info on that, as it doesn't show up on any of the newer pictures from Mules.
Raptor doesn't have fog lights.

You want real fogs, spots, corners , you need aftermarket.

The whole point of a modular bumper is to customize as I choose, so I'm glad it does not have fog lights. I will add my own.
Side note: I hate it when people have their fog lights on when there is no fog. The added glare from on coming traffic is very annoying.

If I had my ‘fog’ lights on, oncoming drivers would suffer retinal damage. Lol

the mod bumper has removable sides so no option for a built in fog.
The MOPAR modular bumper has fog lights. ?‍♂

Fog lights look cool, but probably don’t do much outside of low slung cars. The idea is get below the fog and illuminate the ground ahead without the added glare from using high beams on the fog.
