Weird Order Number - Anyone know?

So I placed a retail order at local dealer (no prior reservation date, so starting from beginning). Have DORA and Dealer Preview Order....and the only order number I see is a letter and 3 numbers.....like A123. Dealer says this is my order number, but this seems like a dealer order number vs Ford order number. I have set up a Ford account last year when I did have a reservation (with different dealer and different build) that I did cancel at the time to wait and see how things went. When I log into my account, I see that old reservation canceled (with old reservation number).

But back to my retail order - Is the A123 number an actual order number - or does an actual order number get created later. I have received email confirmation from Ford that order is placed, etc - see below. No order number provided in the email.

If I am remembering correctly, my order also started out as a letter and three numbers when I first received my copy of the DORA. Not sure when, but at some point, maybe after updating my order, it switched to 4 digits.

That 4 item alpha-numeric number is the "Order Code" that is unique to your dealership... that is how they will look up your order. (you can also supply that, along with other information, for Ford CS to look up your order) That number is autogenerated in the ordering system, but can be modified by the dealership for additional coding (such as adding the customer's or salesperson's initials)...

There is a separate "Order Number" of only digits that Ford creates... that's what would typically show up on your Ford.com profile.

There isn't anything funky going on from what I can see.

Thanks Zack....this makes sense. But when I log in, I do not see my new order...I only see my old canceled reservation. What you show above is what I would be looking for as a TRUE order number for Ford. I may reach out to my Sales Rep.

I'm in the exact same boat, my order number is (Letter)(###) but I don't see anything in my Ford profile under orders.

My order number is M10M. The M's are the first and last intials of my sales persons name. This is what my dealer does, so I don't know if all dealers do this.

Im on hold now with Bronco cust service. Im not sure why my retail order is not showing up on my existing account when I log into Ford. I am happy to create a new account but I assume the order is tied to my original email address - which again, is not showing my order.

@ZackDanger - at the bottom of your preview order above, there are 4 lines at the bottom of the preview order for name, address and email. Are those filled in for you? No need to show - just wondering as all mine are blank.

The image I posted is 100% of the preview I have. I do not see a bottom panel with additional information.

If I were you I would *not* create a duplicate Ford.com profile.... have the dealership/Ford fix what they need to in order to link it to your existing account.

The other thing that might be happening here...

...your dealership has entered your order into WBDO, and was able to generate your Order Summary, but they have not actually submitted it to ford with a 10-19 priority code... it's still sitting with a priority 99 with the dealer as a draft order.

On your order summary, what priority is listed?

@ZackDanger Good catch but its a 19 PC right now. DORA and Preview order show this as well. Attaching below for reference. Sales rep does not know why....was just on hold for an HOUR and then got hung up on. Also Tweeted ford via DM to see if that works.
