Noticed yesterday after my wife left in the bronco there was some fluid on the ground. So I had to work and I'd take a look today. Well the passenger side shock reservoir decided to exit the bronco. Needless to say I have a nice undercoating of shock oil. So I wonder how this will go at the dealer... 🙄

Forgot to mention there were no recent wheeling adventures.

Update on this issue... (6-12-23)

Dealer looked at it this morning and they are ordering a new shock assembly for me. No questions were asked and also no charge. I'm kinda surprised they didn't hassle me about it which I'm glad they didn't.

More than likely being forward facing, it got bumped.

I hope you don't have the slightest evidence of a scratch around the shock. The dealer will likely stick to it as evidence to blame the owner for the mishap.

My wife somehow distroyed the lower trail arm on her Nissan Rogue, said “I didn’t hit anything that I can remember”.

Hope Ford can get you hooked up with a new strut.

The mystery in my household with wife and two kids, somehow whenever anything gets damaged/broken, no one ever seems to know how it happened. :)

Oh I'm sure they will have every excuse not to cover it under warranty. I'm gonna call them tomorrow and see.

Think it will all boil down to what they see around it. They are going to inspect REAL close. And if they see scratches, scrapes or anything anywhere near it - they will most likely deny it as a warranty claim.

And I can’t say as I would blame them. ”I didn’t do nuttin“ doesn’t hold up well as an argument when put up against visible damage nearby.

However - if your undercarriage is clean as a prom-queen’s virtues - I’d say you have a good argument for ”factory defect” on your side.

Good luck.

My gosh. That thing looks like it popped right off without resistance. Almost like you could pull it off by hand. Keep us posted. Curious đź‘€ how this turns out.

Hopefully they can help you out. I'm sure they are not cheap.

Which dealer do you use?
