I'm fairly new to wheeling, although I've done a bit in the past, it's been long enough that I'd consider myself new to it. I have been looking at some of the main areas in the western part of North Carolina, mainly Brown Mountain (Trail 1 & 8 IIRC), Hurricane Creek (closest to me), and of course Uwharrie.
I'm trying to decide where to go to get my feet wet in it again without being over my head or pushing a new car harder than I'd like. I've seen and heard mixed things about all of these areas, some saying they are mildly above a gravel road, while others say they are difficult. I get that conditions here change a lot (I'm a mountain biker, so I see a lot of this on mtb trails too), but I'm trying to get some suggestions on where I should start out here.
Anyone have thoughts on those three areas as a place to start back out as a novice with a stock badlands sas?
