Looks great
Do they stick out very far?
do they block rocks and mud from being thrown from the tires?
No they are rock sliders in the end so they are not designed to stick out far if you are looking for protection from the tires I would either ditch the factory Goodyears which I plan to do. Or get ppf applied which my rig is getting pretty much all around.

No they are not. Honestly the frame mounted debate is for a guy that is really planing to beat up their new 50k plus rig on the rocks. I have no intention to do so but will be doing some moderate wheeling. These suit that purpose well.

It’s not a debate. It’s a fact that anything other than frame mounted is a step, not protection for sliding over rocks. Body mounted steps will only “tweak” your body if you use them for sliding over rocks. I’ve seen it too many times.
I suppose you can call them what you want.
They do look really nice….that’s why I asked.
Merry Christmas!

Installed. Build quality is pretty good.
My wife is small and having a hard time getting in and out of the Bronco so I'm looking for a lower profile slider/step and these XTS sliders seem to fit what I'm looking for. Would you say the step is usable or too thin to really be of much help?

The step is enough for me to climb in and out as well as my wife 5,2 and my kids 6 and 9

Thanks! Sounds like these would be a good fit for what I'm looking for.

I too am looking at these. The price is more realistic in my book. But they are not frame mounted. Which is OK for most people.

What I will most likely do it try to reinforce them to the frame. Go ahead and let them mount to the body - then add some reinforcing gussets to reach the frame rail to give them some added rigidity for side loads.

I just can’t bring myself to pay $1500+ for a pair of sliders.

They haven’t been bad at all I’ve been enjoying them and had them out while I was at koh they did very well and are very sturdy in there current mounting style.
