Went east today with the whole family in the Bronco to Atco, Nj. Traffic was terrible in Philly so we were late getting out. Only explored the western outskirts of the park roads. Holes get unexpectedly deep, fast. Got high centered as soon as I felt I knew what to expect. My buddy pulled me out with his F150. Straps for the win.

You were only a few miles from me - yeah, traversing water in the Pines is an art, and sometimes a crap- shoot. Glad you had help!

No, but I live in Shamong VERY close to the trail you were on. We go in from Atsion Road and come out on Jackson/Oakshade Rd. If you go down 206, go in just before Atsion Lake (a left if your are southbound) for Quaker Bridge Rd. there are a lot of nice trails and you can come out at Batsto, or you can head toward Chatsworth and some trails that way. Just take the precaution of grabbing a long branch or something to check the depth. Also, as you found, the rutting can cause you to hang up, so pick a side and put a wheel on that typical 'center-line".

It will be a while for me to go in there - I am having shoulder replacement surgery tomorrow, so my off-roading (where I will need to be prepared to use 'extra effort' to get myself out is sadly going to be delayed until nearly spring, most likely. Not sure what map app that was that you had, but Gaia has overlays for the 4x4 roads that correlate to the legal Wharton maps as well. Also, if you go out there are some areas that the trail bikes speed on (Washington Turnpike) so keep an eye out, cause sometimes they don't...

Glad to see you are getting to enjoy it - not quite like the trails we had up at Off Roadeo, but good for now. Guess I am going to have to go to PA or VA to get some of those.
