I would prefer a full SCCA/FIA certified roll cage, two Recaro race seats, screw eyes for my six point harnesses
Is it safe to be in a full cage without a helmet, and HANS harness for that matter?

Looking back at the first few pages of this thread and there should be a lot of non-buyers.

The manual is only optioned with the odd choice of a 2.3. - Yes it has plenty of power, but what is the upside? MPG? (No.) Cheaper purchase price? (Probably only 2-3% cheaper, so again no.)

The colors are awful.

The curb weight is substantial.

The towing capacity is low.

I'm buying, but very disappointed I have to get an auto for the V6 and most likely just getting white. Though, I'm holding out hope Cactus grey looks good in person. I think the looks are overall good enough. A little too bulky and Lego looking, but did much better the the Toyota FJ which had that turtle shell backend and cheap plastic looking grills and bumpers. The visibility through the windshield looks like its going to be less than awesome. The roll cage looks gross (but understand Fords hands are tied due to safety regulations.)

I am bummed that it's looks like no Bronco for me, but if things work out I'll still be happy

I really wanted a Bronco, but I can't get a Wildtrak with 33's or a Badlands with sport mode. Plus waiting 8-12 months is a factor in my decision to go a different route. I made a offer on a GT500 today, if the dealer accepts my offer looks like that will be my new ride.

At least it is still a Bad Ass Ford

No manual transmission in the 2.7 will be my deal breaker for my reservation.

Since the covid ordeal I hardly drive anymore and doubt the amount I drive will change back to pre covid which was only about 7000 miles a year anyway. I have a decent car I would have to sell to buy an expensive bronco I don't really need. Plus, for what I want to use it for, I might as well buy a 2000 or so Cherokee (less wght, less bulk, similar interior space) and spend some money on a small lift, lockers and tires.

I also concur with some of the criticisms above, styling is a little bulky etc.

So why spend the money?

That said, I still have my reservation, will price it out. Right now I think I'll buy one but when I have to deal with salesmen and write a $50k check I may just walk. Or when I see it in person I may love it or hate it - I gotta touch it before I buy it.

Frankly, nothing other than cost and if I feel like it. I drive a BMW now and while I love it, I'm not excited about things once the warranty wears off. Luckily, I've got enough time left even with the expected delays on productions. But I've always wanted to truck to ride around with the wife with no top and no doors and this is perfect for me. Enough speed with the V6 paired with Ford's reliability/lower cost of maintenance and it checks the boxes easily.

I can say it has this or it doesn't have that and weigh all of those things and decide I like it. I won't really know until sitting behind the wheel weather it's what I want. If I don't like it, my dealer will be happy to have one to sell to another customer and sell something else to me.

Look like the rear seats dont fold flat in the 4door so thats a major issue when I have muliptle dog crates to throw in. Ford is losing a substantial markets of over a million potential owners who use thier vehicles to haul dogs to various events. Time to how badly Jeep and what ever they call FCA now has screwed up the new Grand Cherokee. 4Runner still folds flat.

I hear you about the 4D not laying flat, but supposedly there will be a storage shelf that will level it out. I have not seen good pictures on it. Sounds like a solution.

Problem is a storage shelve may or may not move and its damn hard to anchor crates down to and around some POS shelve that some millennial product designer thought was a good idea. Gawd it aint that hard to design seats that fold flat. Look at the current 4runner and Grand Cherokee. I want a bench seat in the back not individual buckets. Hell what I would really like to do is replace the driver's seat with a nice Recaro or Procar Rally XL

No offense, but I don't think the multiple dog-crate use case ever showed up on the engineers boards. I think you are vastly over-estimating how many people need that.

I hear you. I may have a buddy tig weld 1/8" aluminum and my own shelf to spec with perhaps pullout drawers and find a way to install and remove it when needed. I only arc and mig weld and perhaps I can learn how to lay some dimes.

my guess is that every car with fold flat seats just raised the trunk floor to make it so, in the Bronco I get 4 inches more to the floor for cargo and if I want/need flat the pull out tray apparently does that and I'm sure there will be plenty other vendors offering interesting solutions, drawers for tools underneath, etc. I want to be able to sleep in there, so if it's not crazy expensive I'll get the pull out tray thing, otherwise I'll just build something myself or see what the aftermarket has to offer.

I hope the pull out tray is something that can be easily removed if I need more cargo area. If I ever add a roof rack it'll be a nice thing to have since you can apparently stand on it to get gear up to the roof.

I don’t think a million show dog owners have been waiting for the new Bronco, but 2020 has been a strange year.
