I feel like the deal breaker for me is it won't come to market in the timeframe I am ready to buy a bronco. So that means we will miss each other. Ford really messed this up. I don't want to hear about Wuhan Virus. They took too long to begin with and this shouldnt have been so hard to bring to market. If it fails its because they missed all the sweet spots of flash to bang. I am not sure who in Ford thinks its a good idea to take 5 years or more to bring a vehicle from concept to realization. Unfortunatly I will probably end up with a Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited to go with my 2007 Wrangler Sahara that I have over 180k miles on with original motor. I love my f150s and f250s but this was supposed to be my fun ride hard to buy something that doesnt exist. Atleast we get to see tons of photos of the useless baby bronco that no one I know of ever asked for.
How long do you think it takes to develop a vehicle? 5 years is pretty quick for a completely new from the ground up design. I'd much rather wait a bit longer and get something good than have it be rushed and crap.

Something that can actually sway jeep owners released in a year from now is far better than something that wouldn't appeal to anybody, released tomorrow.

Remember that there were originally people at Ford advocating the Bronco be something not all dissimilar to this:

JESUS dude. How about a trigger warning before shitposting like this.
only about 3023 blazers bought first qtr, of 19 not a huge reception. 1% of suv sales

explorer was 11% including governmental sales. with about 50k units.

I am sure the bronco will be well receipted across the board if priced competitively, The turbo's is what will keep me out of the picture.
I am not at least interested in them. or anything else that has to be updated at 150k. that's just my opinion.

To an outsider like me, it seems clear Ford lost a ton of development time with an ambiguous mission. There's the ho-hum example you put forward; but there also the year?? Ford Australia spent designing a Wrangler clone. Poor management.

From my understanding it floundered a bit especially in the beginning but the “original” design became the Bronco Sport. (Recall that the 2004 prototype was based on the escape)

Any development on the ranger based Bronco’s suspension and powertrain in Australia was I’m sure utilized in the final design. I doubt the Australian team had much if any input on the aesthetics of the vehicle.

Ford will be very sad to hear that topher3134 thinks they messed up.

Hey why would they care what I think. I only bought new... a 2015 Mustang GT PP, 2012 F150 5.0 FX4 (still own),2013 F150 3.5 EB FX4 (traded for the 19 F250), 2019 F250 Diesel Lariat FX4, 2002 Escape (new for wifey), 2002 F250 (still a shop truck for the family business), 2013 Ford Focus (POS) 2014 Focus ST, 2004 Mustang Cobra (should have kept it but sold with divorce).

Oh and I still own just under 9,000 shares of Ford stock from right after the bailout for the other 2....

Yep they should not care what I think at all.....

Yes that is the best logic. Don't care about customers...just start with one...pick one that spend 70k in the last 12 months with you....good idea...could only work out about as well as the stock has been! Good try guys. But the thing is between this and the Explorer roll out, Ford isnt doing what I and so many others are use to. The slow rolled the Bronco and it isnt being missed by the automotive world.

To be fair, they should probably be more concerned with alienating people like him than those like me. In 21 year, I’ve bought two cars, both new, one of which is a Ford. I have zero stock. I’m pretty set on owning a Bronco, but if I was Ford I’d be somewhat concerned about alienating diehard customers with the current marketing strategy.

Not saying I won't own more Fords, I just bought a 2019 F250 because I wanted a 6 speed auto instead of having to figure out if the 10 speed was gonna be good or not. I am just disappointed in the bronco roll out. I can deal with the IFS. I don't want to wait years more. At that point might as well wait in a bronco raptor or whatever they will call it. But that doesnt really do much for Ford in 2020 or 2021. But of which will be very hard years for the company.
