I've never had a truck with this feature...How long will it sit there with the engine off? Does the AC stop working after a time?

My thing on the auto start/stop is while it may be 'ok-ish' now what about in 15 years, when the car has a 3-4 second crank time, or longer even. Or even a maybe it'll crank this time issue...I would just like a simple button/switch something to turn it off for good.

On the Raptor, most likely all F150’s, the auto start stop can be disabled via most hand held tuners, definitely tuner shops and for a cheaper alternative there’s also a plug to install in the trailer connector to trick the vehicle into thinking it’s towing something which disables the auto/start stop feature.

there’s a physical button to disable it, but you have to do it every time you re-start the vehicle.

I also noticed that putting the Fusion and the Raptor in Sport mode disables it.

It’ll probably be the same for the Bronco

The electronics are supposed to be smart enough, but the start/stop car I rented in Germany, would on occasion get warm inside, when stopped at a light. You could feel the air con loose it's cool until the engine kicked back on.

I've found that having the A/C set to the coldest setting will prevent the engine from turning off. When the engine does turn off, lifting your foot slightly from the brake will restart it.

My wife’s Audi SQ5 came with auto start stop. Pretty jerky, especially in sport mode. Luckily, I found Carista had an app that could disable it. Well worth the small fee to do it.
I have an 2018 S4. If the car is in S mode the auto start stop shouldn't work. It only should work in D. Also I have a button on the dash (so should you) that just disables it. I hope you didn't pay to disable it. You just hit this A OFF button.

When I was a kid, my mom once fit 17 kids into a single-cab Datsun pickup, and only 2 of them were in the bed. It was more common that she'd have to cram 5-8 in the cab with her, though. Tell your kids to suck it up.
My son is twelve and is 5'5" and growing fast. I'm not cramming him in a tight backseat because I remember how it was for me as a kid.

He'd probably tell you to pound sand.

I honestly just hate the conversation around this technology. It is literally so easy to bypass if you really hate it that much (there are plugs that go on the trailer pins to make it think a trailer is connected, flashing ecu, the button to turn it off)

And it makes your starter WAY more durable.

Edit: just poking around various F-150 forums I can find exactly zero examples of someone needing to replace a starter in an ASS equipped F-150.

Well, it’s more complicated than I explained. Yes, there is a button to turn it off but it isn’t persistent. Every time you start the vehicle you would have to hit the button. No thanks.

Also, yes, true sport mode will disable it but my wife uses the custom drive settings and the way she had it set up it would still do the auto start stop.
