Generations have historically been 20 years, give or take. Somewhere along the way demographers got bored and started trying to group people into 15 year cohorts.
I was born a Gen-Xer (1985). Grew up being aware of the cold war and communism at the dinner table from a young age, maybe that's odd remembering all that given the fall of the wall in 1991.
But if we're really going to subdivide at less than 20 years, let's have an Oregon Trail generation from say, 1977-1986 and then leave the rest the same.
