I’ve never pitched a tent in a roof.

Thanks for the info. I live in a condo and removing it all the time would be a hassle. And there's no space to store it except the UHaul store across the street.

PRO: Just think of all the exercise you get climbing up and down a ladder all night to piss after you've been drinking at the fire.
Con: Have to close the tent down any time you want to drive your vehicle...

SNEK, BERS, and Not having to set up a Tent on unknown ground level or conditions. I have never owned one or even been in one. But you can get one with a memory foam mattress and not worry about rolling in or packing it away in your cabin space. Which in the 2 door you pretty much don't have. I look forward to buying one some day.

Not spending $150 to $250/night at a hotel in many places. I do like to travel.

Roof top tent - every campsite is near a waterfall, at least once in the middle of the night.

What? Hey, I ain’t climbing down no ladders in the dark. Didn’t you read? There’s snakes out there!

How easy is it to steal one of these off the roof? Any locks or something?
They're pretty heavy. (100lbs+) It would take all of two people to steal one. Which is not out of the question. I just imagine it would be awkward. I have done quite the research on what would be the best one out there. CVT offers a good range of tents. Pricey! Although good quality. I plan on getting one, although the factory static and dynamic weight limits worry me.

110 Dynamic, 450 Static. I weight in at 240. Being 6'4". I may need to lose weight, or find an upgraded roof rack ?

If you have one, you would have to switch out the tent for roof racks from time to time? Certainly if you use a cage tray? I wouldn't want to drive all the time with the tent but would like to have the roof racks to give a taller look.

I thought the big reason was you can have a big/fancy RTT and not lose valuable interior cargo space for the tent (and whatever you leave in there - like pads). That is a big plus on space-lacking vehicles like a bronco.

Also, they look cool and get more instagram likes.
