What are you using your comms radios for, and what do you have? (VHF, GMRS, FRS etc..)

I did it the hard way, overhead, and this leaves the console completely uncluttered.

And mounted the antenna inside, with the unit behind the rear interior panel.

Love that setup. What radio/etc did you use?

I like to have 2m available. Icom has a new 2m radio the V-3500 which runs 65W. Sits nicely on the dash with the right mounting parts. Also, the @Mountains2Metal under dash mount is a very quick and clean way to mount the Midland MXT4/575.

Another option would be to buy a UHF/VHF ham radio and alter the transmit range to include FRS/GMRS. Not that I would ever think of doing such a thing. And I'm not even sure it's legal. But I hear it works just fine if you're so inclined. This would give you a full range of ham and FRS and only one radio and antenna. Yes, you must have a license for both amateur radio and GMRS. Yes, I have both General Class and GMRS.
