I am averaging 20 MPG- 4WD I commute to (And Thru) Houston every day about 1/2 "city" 1/2 "rural" speeds in the city from about 65 MPH down, highway at about 78 - 140 miles round trip 5 days a week. Temps between 40-70
I have noticed there is a big difference between the MPG my foot gets and what cruise control gets.

About 1000 miles since last Saturday, Seen a high of 21.6 so far, and into a bad wind this morning it dropped down to 19

I second the cruise control mpg being much better than my foot.

Just crossed 800 miles .. 20.8 delivering pizzas which is damn good .. last generation with the 4 liter got 15 delivering pizzas .. new ..a tonneau cover will make a big difference in gas mileage for in town driving ..Also run this hankooks up at 38 psi .. it will help too .. 25 on a 25 mile interstate trip .. but I can’t keep my foot out of it .. you stomp it ... it goes !!!

I'm at 700 something miles total and on my 3rd tank (counting whatever I left the dealer with). Current trip is just shy of 20 MPG. Average for the truck is 18. I'll also +1 for cruise control doing better than me and the adaptive CC makes it even easier

Still over 20-21.5 depending on traffic and weather. I just hit 2100 miles this morning.

Currently at 21.1 with almost all in town driving, averaging only 18mph. Auto s/s on and a non issue for me.

My '05 Tundra, a pretty good analog for the new Ranger, has less power, and only gets 17.5 on average. However, it has a big tank and can go 400 miles. When towing, my mileage "plummets" to around 17. 21 mpg average or worse with that puny 18 gallon tank ain't gonna cut it for me. Please Ford, please give us a bigger tank on the next version. Towing range with this thing is going to suck big time.

I started driving mine like my 2005 Ranger 3.0L, watched the tach climb over 3K, realized the pedal is very touchy. Gonna try and see if a lighter foot improves mileage. Yet I still know what happens if I goose it a little. Seems I need to learn to keep it under 2500 RPM.

First refill at around 325 miles manually calculated 21.49 when the gauge read 20.1.

When was the last time you had a vehicle that didn't have cruise control?
My current Ranger doesn't have cruise control. Please don't hate me. As I recall, the new base XL doesn't come standard with cruise control.

And while I could rant here about the negative experiences I've had while sharing the road with semis, I prefer to chalk those experiences up to the fact that there's some really lousy/stupid/dangerous/arrogant drivers; some in control of 4 wheels, and some in control of 18.
