Hey all,

I’m just now starting to pay attention and also happen to be scouting tires for my Wrangler too. Looking for a while, including the Goodyear site, these tires seem new. I haven’t seen the tread or sidewall before outside the new pre-production Broncos out there. Are they only a certain size so far?

Thanks

The Territory tire has been in canada for a while I think.
Ford calls it a mud terrain, but Goodyear calls it Max Traction? Seems dumb to put M/T on a tire that's not a Mud tire.
The new Ram TRX has them, or a similar version of it.
I will pass on them, stick with the BFGs on the Badlands and change to the Toyo Open County R/T after they wear down.

Do they tend to run light like the Duratracs?

Yep. Ok. I was wondering if they’re worth a damn.
Not sure anyone really knows yet. Bronco and Ram are the first trucks getting them, and last I checked, you couldn't buy them anywhere yet.

It doesn’t say “wrangler” on both sidewalls.

The Terriory is an R/T , or Commercial type tread.
Depending upon your POV and experiences.

Tight center tread blocks are great for on road performance and tread wear.
Wide MT type outer blocks help increase offroad traction compared to a full AT.
However, the price is that the tight center tread will load up with mud, and lose traction, far quicker than a true MT, with wide spaced center tread.

TANSTAAFL rules tire design.

Here's a look at the BFG KM3, KM2, KO2 and then the Good Year Territory. As you can see, the Territory is like a hybrid, but appears a bit closer to the A/T side of the spectrum than the M/T side.

A Ford rep also described it to me as a "hybrid" of true A/T and M/T tires.

Not to derail the thread too much but do trucks / SUVs with A/Ts from the factory also have a special new-car-only bullshit half normal tire tread thickness?

And if you're not aware, virtually all regular passenger cars these days have these half life bullshit tires on them. Source: me and our service department are mechanics.

We have a 2017 Grand Cherokee with original tires at 53k miles holding up just fine. Not sure all tires have ‘half life bullshit tires.’
