I was hoping they would end up at monster jam events. If your going to crush them go BIG!

I don't know. I'll never believe that all pre production units will be "recycled". Someone somewhere is going to end up with a free Bronco.
Nope. I used to teach extrication in the fire service. We would get brand new Volvos and Fords. Before entry, everyone signed a MOU, stating they would not remove any parts from the proving grounds, and had to go thru a metal detector and security check.
Some of these cars had 35 or 40 miles. They ALL got shredded, 100%.

Yeah it's a waste but would you want your brand new bronco to come with some "random" used parts? Not I

Just remember people, there are Federal Laws involved regarding Pre Production Vehicles.

Beat me to my own thread! Touché! :D

I know, it seems like a waste that many will likely meet the crusher, but hopefully they save some of those MIC tops. Although, I’m not sure I’d want to be buying a $70k+ (CDN) new vehicle with any used parts…

I would be pretty pissed if I discovered I had used parts on my brand new special ordered car. Especially if it caused problems, like say a leaky top.

My apologies, this seems like a question that must have been answered before but I couldn't find it anywhere. What happens to the hundreds of Pre Production Broncos built for dealer events, testing, Off Roadeos, etc? I'm not saying I want one but I imagine Ford wouldn't just put them all in a crusher. Seems like that would be a tremendous waste, especially while we're all feeling the effects of these parts constraints.

If someone could kindly point me in the right direction, I would love to ease my curiosity.

As has been said not all go to the crusher.

When the new camaro came out a bunch of the pre-production ones ended up being placed in some MOUNT training facilities. Nothing was more fun than jacking up those ugly pieces of a joke.

They may rework some of them and send through the auto auction as a used car. I have seen VERY low GM, Ford, and Hyundai VIN's run through auctions early in a new model year.

Over the years vehicles have slipped the grasp of the crusher but it's extremely rare all the ones I know to exist where connected to Ford employees
