Winter is quickly approaching and for many, snow will become an issue for these tires. Unless you want to spend 2K on a set of 315/70/R17 tires, downgrading the tires seems the best way to do this. But what?

I'm from Wisconsin and never saw a need to get snow tires. I usually look for the 3 peak or snow rating and use the same tires all season long

Only real sister sizes available are 285/75 and 275/80.

the 275/80 size only has one tire which are kevlar sidewalls and definitely not cheaper, but if you want more pizza cutter wheels they are your best option. still not snow rated. (34.32 inch tires)

the 285/75 has a few options, but not any cheaper than oem size (33.83 inch tire)

I would wait and see how they do...the stock tires have a ton of siping and look like they will be decent in snow.
