Ford’s obviously not going to drop the whole Bronco project. But seeing as everything is going wrong, what is the worst possible scenario that’s going on/going to happen?

Ask @Ford Motor Company . I own a Sept 65 Built Budd Bronco, I drove my first Shelby (66 Hertz) at the age of 17 years old, I've been a long time loyal Ford fan and consumer, and I have lost faith in the company all together.

Soft tops only until Ford can spin up another supplier with a different MIC top that can be produced with quality in quantity. Maybe a trickle of Webasto MIC time bomb roulette tops to finish out FEs.

Two doors delayed indefinitely - leading Ford to ultimately believe since people aren’t ordering two doors (because they can’t get them anytime soon), they’ll plan for more four doors - this perpetuating the problem. (Sort of like people who didn’t order 7MT, but wanted it, because they couldn’t get the 2.7 or had to wait for Mansquatch.)

Maybe about this time next year they can spin that second supplier up …

Dang some of you people are super negative.

My opinion? They’re shipping vehicles right now (albeit slowly, but it’s happening)… so nothing too dramatic should happen at this point beyond further delays.

Realistic worse case is the majority of the 2020 reservation holders don’t get their Bronco until 2023, and the painted tops get pushed back another year to 2024. I can also see Bronco dropping some of the unpopular features/trims (Big Bend, for example).

7/15 build. If they can't ship before New Years, will they just reconfigure my windowsticker as a MY22?

All stop.
This ^^^

This is the worst case scenario for both Ford, and for us. a full stop while the new roof supplier is spun up to remedy the top issues and get them moving out the door. Educated guesstimates would put it at about 6-9 months of downtime to get a new supplier up and going from scratch, and probably a year to reach full production capacity,

*edit* , and that's with everyone involved working 12-16 hour days the whole time.

Worst case? Ford has to agree to suspend all ICE vehicles in order to receive emergency stimmy $$$ for whatever bailout the Govt. cooks up.

Just this past few days I'm starting to lose confidence in Ford and my Bronco. I was a 7/14/2020 reservation, January order, 2-door Bronco has been "In production" since 7/15.

I'm ok with waiting but I'm starting to question the quality of the vehicle I'm about to get.

More communication from Ford would be helpful.

Ford is not experiencing anything much different than other car manufacturers, RV manufactures, motorcycle/OHV manufacturers, boat manufactures….and the list goes on and on…..

Do you see the empty lots at ALL NEW CAR DEALERS? Why do you think the used car, boat, rv, motorcycle/ohv prices are so high?

This is not a Ford problem, this is a global problem!
