The 2.3L auto's are interesting. Is it budget, MPG or prefer?
I got a Badlands 4D with 2.3 Auto myself.
I test drove the ranger and the F-150 and preferred the feel of the 2.3. More fun and character (more punchy in high revs / less linear).
Then I have been riding the Bronco at KOH and in MOAB. In both case we asked the drivers and they both have been driving both engines multiple times. Their impression was that they were really impressed with the 2.3. We also asked both times to floor the Bronco (it was the 2.7) and it was exactly the same feeling that I had in the F-150: good power but extremely linear.

So I chose the 2.3 because:
- It felt better to me as explained above (that's purely personal preference)
- 2 pro driver both told me they were impressed with it and that it was more than sufficient on a BL
- It's 150lbs lighter
- It gives me more space to add stuff in the engine bay like a compressor and so on
- I take the slightly improved MPG and $1800 as a bonus..

I think both engines are a great choice and that the 2.3 should have more kudos than it has in this forum. I understand the 2.7 has many pros as well like more HP, more torque, different injection and construction etc and that's why it's also an excellent choice.

I ordered a Badlands 4dr with SAS and LUX, 2.7, MIC top, MGV, in Race Red. How about you?

EDIT: I also got Tow, Liners, and keypad
Ford Bronco What is your BL build? Bronco
Same as yours, other than I ordered Rapid Red and no keypad.

Agreed 100%. If I were going auto, I wouldn't have been able to resist the One Pedal that is only available with the 2.7 for whatever reason.

Not budget but cost for a measly 40 HP extra. The 2.3L is nothing to sneeze at. It's not like you're comparing a 6 banger to a full blown V8 on a Mustang.
In general its my preference to have the 2.3L and to stay off the late availability list. However, even without that I likely would have ordered the 2.3L.

After delivery will use points towards roof rack and Bronco floor liners.

Whatever I can get for the stock wheels and rock rails will go towards aftermarket wheels, step/rail (not fond of Fords offering).
