What problems do you have with your late model ford that you hope do not infect the new Bronco?

2014 focus se. The dual clutch nightmare that is a transmission has made me swear off getting an automatic, I know the 10 speed isn't dual clutch but still. And somebody else said it but at only 32k miles the wheels clear coat is peeling bad and it looks like garbage when 1/4 of the wheel is a different color/finish then the rest. Also, the rearview camera in my buddies 2017 focus with 11k miles randomly doesn't work for long periods of time, but reinserting the fuse fixes it for a little.(mine doesn't have a camera) Other than those, I can't complain to much.

  • 21,179mi. New Water Pump
  • 26,653mi. Pinion seal(s) replaced
  • 42,647mi. Takata airbag assembly replaced
  • 67,995mi. Inner Tie rods replaced
  • " " Outer tie rods replaced
  • " " Both front wheel bearings/ hub assemblies replaced
  • ~80,000mi. Replaced all suspension components with Bilstein from GT500 due to degredation
  • " " Replaced rear jounce bumpers while car was apart
  • 81,359mi. Brought car in to dealer so they could check on a 2nd to 3rd (6 Speed Auto) rough shift that I've been having. They proceeded to take my car on a 20 mile, 2.5 gallon of gas joyride (I set the trip when I dropped it off). Nothing was found.

  • RATTLES....RATTLES EVERYWHERE
  • Rear view mirror incessant rattle
  • Steering wheel leather falling apart in hand while driving
  • Small, random paint bubbles/ debris in paint similar to what others have stated
  • Radio LCD screen seems to be crackling behind the glass as if it had a bad tint job.
  • Map lights randomly flicker when on

I really like this car, despite all it has put me through. I HOPE that the new bronco is a little.....less.....rattly and squeaky. With all the plastic components we have seen in the reveals, my hopes are not very high, but as long as it's not too outrageous, I'll be ok.

Had a 2006 Mercury Mariner and after 12 years the cylinder timing went bad.
So far nothing in my 2017 Fusion except for the steering wheel recall

There's an active recall/TSB on that.
I had the fancy foam pieces installed. Broke a second time. The solution was not to wash the truck in the extreme cold.
And, always carry a ratchet strap to keep the door closed.

The local dealer said not to fix ours, unless it becomes a problem. It hasn't been. We live way up North (NH). I figure, if it was going to freeze, it would have happened by now.

Glove box latch had to be replace kinda weak design. Rear cup holder the leather pulled out from people putting it up and down. (fits too tight I guess)

Regular audio issues (Sync related?). Tried upgrading, downgrading, now on the latest version. ~25% of the time it will not recognize my USB drive (unplug/plug fixes this). Reverting to low quality beeps (reverse sensors). Not sure how else to describe it, but it is a different chime I get maybe 5-10% of the time. There is no consistent fix, after 2-3 restarts it goes away. Other than that, I love my truck, hopefully Sync 4 is stable.

My 2017 Mustang GT has not any major failures. The intake manifold runner controls died and I had a new one replaced.

But I am realistic, I am fully expecting some issues and rattles/vibrations over time.
Ford paint quality is not good, I am hoping to PPF the front at least.

I don't expect this car to be problem-free, but as long as it's not a lemon and not a complete POS, I'm okay with that being a first year buyer.

2014 F150 rocker panel rust issues. I don't know if that issue was corrected on the newer (2015+) F150 models.

I have a 2009 Ford Escape v6. I've never really had any major problems with it - only complaint is that it started rusting pretty early. I do live in Iowa, we have some shitty winters, but it still started rusting around the wheel wells quicker than I would have thought. Could have something to do with the concrete plant I worked at for years too. Hard to say. Other than that, no complaints.
