I am in the market to get some new wheels for the bronc. I am leaning towards some BF Ko2's. I have a outer banks with the stock rims. Also what size fits best it says for my tire size they don't make it.

If it were me... I think the Bronco and the Fifteen52 Analog wheels are soul mates. Black, white and grey.

BF Ko2's are good, but I kinda over seeing them everywhere. But if it's the tread you are going for and not the excitement of the BFG's, you may be able to score some Black Diamond take-off General Grabbers for cheap. So far I am very impressed with them and I think size is close to what you have now.

285s always look good and should fit on your stock wheels. I'm going to get 275/70R 17 for my BB whenever it gets here. Here's what 275s look like on a 2 Door OBX:

My top three are below. Keep in mind that I live in New England so snow traction is super important to me, and all of these tires are 3-peak snow rated. If you are in North Carolina... I'm going to guess it is not that important.
  • BFG KO2 - owned 4 sets, my favorite light truck tire
  • Falken Wildpeak AT3W - owned 2 sets, also really good
  • Milestar Patagonia A/T Pro - new tire that I'm excited about
Some other extremely popular choices. I personally haven't owned any of these, but I know they are popular all-around choices among the 4x4 community. None of these are "extreme" rock-crawling/mudding tires. But they are all solid choices for everyday use and off-roading alike.
  • Nitto Ridge Grapplers
  • Milestar Patagonia M/T
  • General Grabber AT2
  • Nitto Terra Grapplers
  • Toyo Open Country (either A/T or R/T)

Has anybody confirmed that the 33.8" tires will fit on a stock bronco? I'm getting a BD and I know 285/70r17s will fit no problem, but I've been wondering about 285/75r17s. Thanks.

How are Broncos doing when you add after market tires that weigh 15-20 pounds or more than the factory tires. My new SAS tires will be right at 20 pounds heavier.....each!!

Will Bronco handle it OK? Wondering if that should be part of the decision.

Numerous posts here about even 35x12.5 going on the NO LIFT stock +55mm non-Squatch wheels with no issues. Crash bars will require removing. The only rub was at full lock, the tire just kissed the sway bar. Hard offroading not recommened, but they should fit.
The post that comes to mind, the dude used silver Ranger wheels (+55mm , same as Bronco) and another thread, guy has an offroad company, mounted 35x12.5 up also and stated the same ... slightly kissed the sway bar at full lock.

I just got super lucky finding some 35 x 11.5 - 17's .... on the way !!!!
My first preference was the 285/75-17 though .... but I suppose I can live with the extra .6" of tire!

285 = 11.2" typically, so VERY similar tire.
Most important part to me was the "C" load rating instead of "E". I just feel it will ride a bit better .... we shall see.

Numerous posts about the heavier tires here, even on the 2.3 manual. In summary, you'll know they are there, it'll slow it down some, but it isn't bad by any means. One poster even preferred how it ran with the bigger tires because it changes the effective gear ratio and it helps with first gear, which feels a little short to me (and him).

Stick with something C rated, E rated tires are too stiff and heavy for a Bronco. I would go for a 17” wheel with +55 to +30mm offset, that will keep it from sticking out too far. 265/70R17 will fit and work great, as will 285/70R17. Toyo makes some 285/75R17 in C load rating.

So the stock BD steelies are +55mm?
For my own reference:

As computed by Tiresize.com backspace/offset calculator.

16 x 7 = +55mm offset = 6.17" Backspace (Base)

17 & 18 x 7.5 = +55mm = 6.42" backspace
(BB, BD & OBX)

17 x 8 = +55mm offset = 6.67" backspace (Badlands)

17 x 8.5 = +30mm off = 5.93" backspace (Squatch)

93.1 center bore
6 x 5.5 bolt pattern

Have an Outer Banks on order too. It's coming w/ 18" wheels and 32" tires as I didn't get SAS and the more aggressive tire that comes on 17" wheels. Can someone tell me why "the size" for wheels is 17"? I plan on a 2" lift and would like to install bigger tires, say 33" or 35" but don't want to buy new wheels. Any help would be appreciated.

I've seen several people switch to 275/70/18. I'm thinking of getting an OBX for my wife, I have a BaseSquatch and was looking at 265/70/18.
