I read on one of the other forums that a little birdy told them that 35’s would be an option too. No proof of that in any way, don’t even have the post. Just something I saw.Wasn't one of the rumors that there are supposed to be 33" tires at least optional? If so, that'll be what I run.
My Wrangler has 33's and I love the on-road feel. Just feel that It could use a liiiitle more ground clearence. All my years of driving. I find 33 inch tires ride the fine line between drivability/road manners, and off road capability. Thats just a personal observation though.
I feel basically the same way. I haven't run anything bigger since the early 90's on my Gen 1 thru 4 Rangers. All my years of driving. I find 33 inch tires ride the fine line between drivability/road manners, and off road capability. Thats just a personal observation though.
I chose 33" but only because I think that will be a stock option. If it only comes with 31-32s I'll likely run those. I wouldn't want anything bigger than 33, the tradeoff in unsprung weight isn't worth it for my purposes, but as others have mentioned, it seems like a good middle ground.Ouch, only one that chose "stock"...
I just don't plan on modifying it much other than some stuff that will probably piss off the purists in here
My profile pic is 33's on 16s well they are metric but come out to 32.8. But still. The tire to wheel ratio is good for me.I chose 33" but only because I think that will be a stock option. Plus, a 33 on a 17 inch rim should have about the same proportions as the 31s on a 16 inch rim I currently use, so I'm happy with that.
The only problem with 17" wheels is that there are only a few tires that seem to be made in a load range C when you get to the larger sizes. Most seem to be at least D. And they are not cheap, even thought that seems to now be the most popular off-road wheel size. 15s are nice but you have to have larger brakes to stop a heavier tire/wheel and rig.If I have to run 17" wheels, which you probably will, then I am going to want 37"+ tires to get some decent sidewall. The new Bronco is likely to be relatively large as well, so it is going to need some big tires to offset that size.
A 17 or 18 with 35's doesn't look or feel bad either. The 33's I run are a load range E for towing. Used to plow too. Right now I'm running 285/75/16 Wild Country XTX Sport A/T. So far they have been great. They are a tad stiff being E tires. But I don't mind. I'm running 37x13.5r17 E rated they look ok. I really prefer the 39x15.5r15 on my Bronco though, now that is some seriously good looking amount of sidewall.
