I'm running 37x13.5r17 E rated they look ok. I really prefer the 39x15.5r15 on my Bronco though, now that is some seriously good looking amount of sidewall.
Personally, I think you can't beat the look of 15's with 44" super swamper tsl's.

I agree, but I'll need to upgrade to 1 ton axles, and since the intent would be to use 1 tons from a 2005+, I'll need a minimm of 17" rim to clear the calipers. but even then, 44 boggers on 17s should look good.

Yep. Much better design on the 05+ super duties. I'd still truss it though.

I picked 33" because I'm assuming those will be an OEM option, with 31-32 being a base level size. 33" with decent ground clearance would take it to places my ZJ and mitsu would never be able to get to as they stand now.

I usually run separate tires on the street vs offroad - much cheaper and better to have good tires for each purpose... also helps I have tire machines and a lift at home. on the XJ it's 32s on the street and 33s offroad right now, going to move to 33/35 if the bronco does end up having an IFS and I'm stuck with my XJ. On my old rubicon I ran 35s on the street/37 trail, though finding a quiet, street thread 35 was a pain in the ass.

That makes some good sense for some usage scenarios.

Even without a lift and tire machine, swaps are super easy if you have the offroad tires on their own second set of wheels. All you need is a jack, and ideally an impact gun.

Rubicon has 285/70/17 which is almost 33 inches. Is that what we guess a top of the line bronco will run? The Sahara runs about a 31 inch tire, 255/70/17.

The only problem with 17" wheels is that there are only a few tires that seem to be made in a load range C when you get to the larger sizes. Most seem to be at least D. And they are not cheap, even thought that seems to now be the most popular off-road wheel size. 15s are nice but you have to have larger brakes to stop a heavier tire/wheel and rig.
You don't have to have larger brakes. Especially if you're not racing it. The larger brakes are for heat management. I can't imagine heat being an issue in a vehicle like the Bronco versus something like a Mustang at the race track.
