Looking to get max, law-abiding tint on my rig. What tint does the factory usually provide? Will it vary by trim?

My guess is basically zero on the front windows, and about 20% on the rear windows. That's pretty common for SUVs.Looking to get max, law-abiding tint on my rig. What tint does the factory usually provide? Will it vary by trim?
I didn't even know about the 3M Crystalline product, so thank you! Will see if I can get that done around me when I tint the front windows.I’d rather just tint them after market, put the 3M clear crystalline on the front windshield and 15% all others. Works well here in Florida.
That’s the law here in MA. We have a required annual “safety inspection” that would fail you for anything darker than 35% on the front doors... but they can’t inspect what’s not there... and my Jeep doors are off in the summer at inspection time.Tint does not vary by trim. Windshield and two front doors are not tinted from factory. All windows rear of that are roughly 20%.
What is legal Depends on your state. Most states only allow 35% on front doors and only a band on windshield. 35 is lighter than the rear factory tint so most people risk it and go with a match of the rear factory tint with 15-20% on the front doors.
MOST people go with illegal tint. Including myself.

Yes. I always match factory on the passenger windows. It is illegal here in CA. ?‍Tint does not vary by trim. Windshield and two front doors are not tinted from factory. All windows rear of that are roughly 20%.

When I has in high school, a friend of mine had a legal aftermarket tint on his car and got pulled over and was given a ticket because the cop said it looked too dark. He went to court to fight the ticket with proof it was legal and the judge basically told him to pound salt and upheld the ticket plus court fees.Whatever is factory comes with it will never beat the aftermarket. I have had illegal tint on all vehicles I've owned since I was 16 and never had an issue. Here in CT most police departments only have one device per department to actually check tints. Illegal tints have never gotten me pulled over..
