The good news is that if you already have a tuner such as an SCT X4, you are looking at a lot less (about $99 for one tune) since 5 star will email you the custom tunes based on your current build. Then they offer a 100K mile warranty through Stage3 for $1k, which is probably better than what you can find at the dealership. Take a look.

I really wonder how that would work overall. Stability of the company would be a huge concern for me, but it's a great way for them to back up their products.

Both 5StarTuning and Stage3 Motorsports have been around forever. 5Star is probably the best company for custom tuning in the industry. They do in-person dyno tuning and custom tunes based on stated bolt on mods. They are the real deal.

I agree. I hadn’t put pencil to paper until today. It’s probably quite a bit better if the goal is 300hp/350lb. lb. ft. Of torque or better. I have the 2.7 and love the power and I think it’s a good match for off roaring. Once we have actual numbers I will use that as I build and price ??

Hmmm, I wonder if you can get the tune seperate? I already have a Ford Tuner, or I can just purchase and download a new tune from 5Star.

Yup, gotta have the manual. Hope they allow me to buy the tune with it as it’s an all new manual

I think to get the Ford warranty they also require that it be installed by an ASE certified technician, so figure whatever minimum labor charge for that into the total, too.
