Yes indeed! Nice bullet bird. Are you trying to keep it showroom original or restomod?

My '61 on the 2,300 mile journey from Houston to Seattle.

It's far from original. It's got a 4-inch static drop to make it look low and lean. Also custom paint and interior. A previous owner added the tonneau from a 62/63 to give it the Sports Roadster look. I showed up to one of the local Thunderbird club meetings and decided I'd never return. If it wasn't a concourse-spec Baby Bird it was looked down on. I got to sit there for an hour while all these ancient farts crawled all over the car "that's not original. Why is that like that? Are you going to return it to its original color? What is up with that thing?" and so on. Yes, it has a Roadster kit. Yes, those are '63 tail lights. No I won't change it because you disapprove. I like it that way.

Yours looks pretty clean. Still, that's a long drive in a nearly 60 year old car. What's the driving season like up that way?

Another pic to show just how low it sits.

That thing is incredible. Being a fan of wagons is what eventually got me into a Bronco. Not much for cool wagons anymore so I guess I'll settle for a Bronco. Ha

I love wagons especially performance wagons. Unfortunately my wife hates wagons, which is why I went with my second love performance sedans.

Going soft top or hard top?
I'm in San Diego and am having a hard time deciding...want it for the same reasons you do pretty much.
Think I'm going HT with the bimini top. Put the HT on around Nov. and take it off sometime in April. Just need the heated seats for when the sun goes down!

I'm just curious to see what my fellow forum members have in their driveway before they get their Bronco.
Mostly cement and rebar with some ribbons of bouquet canyon stone.

Currently have a 2020 F-150 XLT, a 2007 BMW 335i, and a 2005 Saab 9-5 Aero. As of now the plan is to replace the truck with the Bronco... Sold my classic Range Rover when I bought the F-150 and miss having an off-road capable rig.
