Ugh don’t tempt me.

I’ve watched a lot of JK Gear and Gadgets’ build of their Rubicon JT, it seems like they needed to do a lot in the way of upgrading the steering box bracing, steering stabilizers, and shocks just to get it to drive decently. Although a lot of automotive journalists have said the Mojave is the beat driving Wrangler/Gladiator there is, and it drives high speed way better than the others.
What’s your experience with your Rubicon? Any upgrades, how does it drive? How’s the V6?
Drive was my main concern. With that said, I have been really pleasantly surprised with how it drives. I have also been very impressed with interior trim and build quality.

My only cons:

1- The V6 would benefit from more power in high elevation situations
2- Gas mileage- I average 15mpg
3- It's a pricey toy

2 door defender 90 green and white top, steel wheels.
I LOVE my defender. Opted for First Edition with the V6. I would also love a two door p300 with white steelies. 😊

Love the Mustang, but so different than a Bronco!

2 Doors, Stick shift. Rapid Red is pretty much the same color as the Candy Apple Red in my avatar.

So... Pretty much the same no?

Interesting. Yeah I don’t know why Jeep still has such a weak engine as their main power plant. I’d even opt for the 2.0 if it was available in the Gladiator, but I’ve read the grille design wouldn’t allow enough cooling for extended towing. 4XE would be awesome too, but from what I’ve seen those start at about $65k in the Rubicon’s. I can’t imagine how much a 4XE Gladiator would cost.

A Mojave Gladiator built the way I’d want it with the equivalent specs to my badlands comes to $54k MSRP, definitely higher than that off the lot, and my Badlands is just under $50k. And compared to the Bronco, I’d be gaining the bed and a good audio system, but losing washout/MGV which is a big one for me, the awesome 2.7, disco sway bar, front locker, and the 12” screen with 360 camera. And obviously IFS’s great ride on and off road.

Test drove a 4runner and a Gladiator Saturday and sat in a 4 door Wrangler. My head touches the cross bar in both Jeeps and I liked the 4runner but not enough to replace my Grand Cherokee with it. The '22 Tundra is intriguing. I'll never consider another Ford of any model again if they can't come thru on the Bronco in a reasonable time-frame.

Anyone thinking of buying something other than the new Bronco, due to the endless delays? If so, what's are you thinking?

Already have two Jeeps. Just keep them until the Bronco comes in. No rush.

Don't have a functionable plan B as of yet, because I have my Wrangler to hold me until next year. But if for some stupid reason mine falls to a '23 build I'll put my vague plan together, and move on from the Bronco. But damnit, I want a Bronco. :)

Update, went and test drove a Gladiator Rubicon today. Holy hell, I don't think I could ever own a Jeep, it was all over the road. I know that just how they are, but not something I think I could live with. Kinda disappointed for sure, a part of me was hoping I would think the handling was ok and maybe get mysefl into a doorless, topless vehicle a lot sooner, but I wouldn't be able to. More power to you that you enjoy yours, I wish I liked it more.

That's so weird... I have owned mine a short while, but have not had that issue at all, whether on the freeway, or not. I did put 35" tires on mine, and had Jeep Service re-torque the ball joints, since I heard they don't come properly torqued from the factory at times. Also, I have heard that the Mojave handles better than the Rubicon.
