2023 Outer Banks, non SAS. Using the trip odometer, 19.1 - 20.4. After installing the K&N CAI, 21.0 - 21.7 with the same commute/route etc. I thought the added MPG from a CAI was BS, but so far it has produced results.

Definitely all those getting 20mpg and up, either you're running tiny tires or you drive like this...

This was an almost 3800 mile trip with 4full days of wheeling in Moab, and still made 20.0mpg average for the entire vacation. Hand calculated was close enough to consider this accurate.

2 door badlands non SAS, 2.3 manual, with a trektop. We were completely loaded inside for 3 people for 11 days, including a fridge, tools, parts, and recovery gear.

2023 4 Door BL SAS, Afe intake. Afe charge pipes, magnaflow overland, JB4,,

This is a calculated mileage, (approx 8,900 miles) I use 93 100% of the time

JB4 off/JB4 on setting one-
all highway to Boston and back, 550 miles per week =19.9 (best) (70-75mph)
in mixed city/country = 18.5
In city traffic = 17.6

JB4 setting 2, highway 17.9 (lead foot) mixed 17.8 city 17.0. W/ Sport mode highway 17.3 moxed 16.9, City 16.5

JB4 on setting 3, sport mode =highway 17. mixed 16.5, city 16.0.

FYI - Incorrect tire pressure, tire tread, wheel and tire overall weight, etc will effect MPG a fair amount

I would agree with the tire size of people getting 20 mpg. I would like to see people who have 37's and what are they getting!

As others have said, I knew when I set my RIG up this way MPG's were not going to be at the front of the line, and since I mainly do city driving, my 13.1~13.5 I can live with it.

What does tire size have to do with it?

Ford adjusts the axle ratio to match the tires. For example, the Sasquatch with 35" tires has 4.70 gears while the versions with smaller tires have a smaller ratio number to match.

4dr obx squatch. Always drive in normal mode. The best I got was in the Smoky mountains running up and down the mountains about 35-45 mph. Never would have guessed that but it's a fact. I'm happy with getting an average of 19 mpg.

2022 BL 4door with 7MT on stock tires/rims. Averaging between 17-18mpg for city or combined. On highway, if I drive the way I prefer (faster) I still get 17-18mpg but if I go gentle on the boost I have gotten 19-20, but that almost never happens because I can't handle driving that slowly and without acceleration.

Again that depends if your STOCK. I am far from the stock setup. My original tire size was the non SAS 33's. So I have the 4.46 gears. I have my RIG setup correctly for the size tires I am running because I have a full suspension setup. But I still think tire size will affect MPG's over all. But hen again maybe I am wrong.

Am I the only one who seems to be getting horrible mpg? Almost worse than my 09 jeep. 2023 wildtrak with only 300 miles on it sitting at 13.2 mpg. Id say 80% is city driving in normal mode. Heard possibly sport mode is better mpg? Or maybe it’s still in break in period and will get better. Didn’t buy it for the mileage but was hoping to at least get 15-16 ha
Put some air in the tires

Yup, I’m running the stock non SAS 32’s that come on the outer banks. Forgot to mention I have the 2.7L, mostly normal mode with the occasional sport mode to merge on the highway

4.46 with a 35” has weaker acceleration with more top end. 4.7 with a 35 Has better acceleration but less top end. This is extremely minimal compared to a traditional 3:73 vs 4:10 ratio gap.…if your running a 4.46 you will use more gas than a 4.7 (with the same transmission). In my mind it’s how heavy Your foot is
