What @Ducati1098 said. You cant just pull down the HVAC panel and unplug it. You either need to bypass it with the Auto Stop Eliminator or Forscan it.

In the link I included, you’re able to place a jumper for the A S S to disable it; it’s a freebie. In the link it was done on a F150, so I don’t know if it works on Broncos

There is no known bypass like this on a Bronco that I’m aware of.

I feel like if you can turn the rotational knob for the goat modes or you know push any other button in the interior I feel like pushing one more isn’t of an inconvenience?

How much and what do you buy for a Forescan? The autostop was $99, so if the Forescan is in that area you would be better to get it.
That’s a question better answered by someone else.

I work at a dealership, so I didn’t need to buy anything extra since I already use what forscan needs to work on a daily basis.

There are a lot of good threads on here about forscan and the best adapters to make it work though

SuperChips flashcal will allow you to slot of changes and still be able to revert back to oem settings very quickly. I bought it to disable Auto Start/Stop, double horn blast, recalibrate for 37" tires and recalibrate the TPMS at each corner.

Edit: SuperChips flashcal is only for 2021-2022, not 2023 compliant.

I have a 2dr OB. I DESPERATELY want to disable the A S S system. I have reviewed a thread on this topic on this forum. Is the harness for the A S S just behind the button? And if so, do you get to it?

https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/auto-start-stop-eliminator-freebie.35956/page-5

Thanks
Where are you located in MI? I can disable the A S S system for you with my FORScan software. At the same time I can activate the missing GOAT modes on your Outer Banks (Rock crawl & BAJA modes) and shut off the double honk feature when you leave your vehicle while its running if you would like.

There is a video showing the installation on that website.
If you don’t want to pay for that, then auto start/stop needs to be programmed out using forscan or other aftermarket programmers.
I thought I read somewhere that they Forscan tweak isn't really turning it off as much as it's tricking it by making the Bronco think that it's turning a corner or something.

Do you know what that's all about? And is there any long-term issues?

Yeah it still disabled it though.
It just makes the vehicle think there is steering wheel movement at all times.
In a properly working system, with the vehicle off due to auto start/stop, turning the steering wheel will turn the vehicle back on immediately. So it basically just never shuts down because it sees constant movement.

I’ve had it disabled this way on mine for the last year, no issues whatsoever.

I'm only asking because I know you have a lot of insight.... But does it just make the Bronco think they're steering input, or is it actually working the steering motor slightly? (Does that make sense?)

What I don't want is for me to be sitting in traffic or at a long light, and my steering motor being worked just because.

On the 23 MY the Forscan trick is not working, at least on mine.
