As far as brand new 4 wheel drive SUV'S. My best guess on top three would be:
1 - Jeep Wrangler
2 - Ford Bronco
3 - Toyota 4runner

For about 21 years I've been using my 79 bronco to plow with. No susp mods other than front leveling springs. It doesn't have anything special for front shocks and not even super cooling. Did add front lockrite to keep from spinning tires puling out boat on gravel ramp, not sure if that helps or hurts, overall reliability. Also recently did add 3G alt.

Not commercial by any means, but for the last 9 years, I've done mine and 7 or 8 of my neighbors 200+ish foot driveways and my own street, since they take so long to come out (if ever). Have done about 6 or 7, 2 footish storms (which is a lot for jersey, try to do them about half and half).

If the new bronco could not at least do that, for many years, without any breakage or significant wear at all,
I'd have to question it's front end stoutness (given we have had 40 odd years of development).
I'm pretty sure Ford already thought about snow plow capability, as did Jeep.

And even if they didn't. I would hope this upgraded front end can at least handle a 7.5 ft plow
as well as a 40 year old dana44..........

Then I just can't see why all the talk about how stout this new front axle/susp is going to be.
Even classic broncos could handle a 6.5 foot plow, and many of them were D30's.

its not just the strength, it is the geometry of an SFA that makes is suitable while IFS is not really suitable for that work.

You mean Ford and GM can't do it. It's been done over 40 years ago.

Late here again, idk how this got off the other topic again, (we have a thread for this) I don't think ANYONE here who knows what they are talking about said definitively the new (or old) Bronco IFS cant Plow. One thing I said is why the EFFFF would anyone use a midsize vehicle for plowing? use a big a$$ truck or a piece of heavy equipment if you have it. As I already stated, once you plow with a skidder or loader you'll never go back to a truck unless you are trying to run a small business or enjoy wasting time at home. The only advantage that SFA has for plowing that is 100% objective is that they require by nature stiffer springs up front to counter the lack of roll stiffness (yes even in addition to the sway bar). If you call that an advantage so be it. God D*mn why are we still talking about this?

Glad someone else knows about these! One of the coolest suspension designs I've ever come across. Limited in travel but still awesome. You get a good shot of it in Mad Max Fury road when they roll the war rig which was on a Tatra chassis.

This scene gives me chills, so epic!

Heres the version with some plowing, albeit dirt ;)

Sort of said it here (below), course technically that was an 8 foot blade. But as I pointed out, 6.5 blade has been done on D30 classic broncos by many accounts.

Why wouldn't you? I understand if we are talking a unibody, not already supposedly durably desgined for winching, strapping, severe offroading, and supposedly I assume already having added cooling and electrical systems.

So now I have to buy an F250 or heavy equipment to do 150-200' driveway 2-8 times a year, mostly 6 inches or less?

Again, we are talking residential areas that are just too big for a snow blower, and even a bobcat (which I have a 753) would take way longer than the bronc with a 7.5 plow. I do all the driveways on my street, and many times the whole street (since I don't want end of driveways plowed back in) in under 40 minutes, for 6" and under.

Maybe i'm way off base here. Certainly those cases, like yours (including doing the neighbors in which driving a skidder is way too slow), could probably be perfectly satisfied with a smaller plow rig. My main point or assumption is that most people who have a property and/or driveway large enough to warrant more than a snow blower or shovel probably have some sort of farm/utility vehicle or a heavier pickup than the typical midsize. Of course there are some exceptions but I doubt they are numerous enough to warrant said snow plow package from the factory. That's all I'm saying. I don't doubt that the Bronco can plow moderate things just fine, I just question how relevant that is outside of being proxy debate on its robustness which is better handled in a specific discussion.

Well, no one else on my street has any kind of tractor, except the guy that owns the entire lot on the other side of my street and that thing hasn't moved in the 9 years I've been here. About half have a fullsize truck, but that just means full size truck plow prices (and not very maneuverable in a residential driveway, like a smaller truck/SUV).

They've had plows for Rangers for a long time apparently,
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Meyer-2500...e:Ford&hash=item548004f174:g:-zAAAOSw3lxeVBNV
so why not a new 4 door bronco.

I'm not really even asking anymore if a new bronco will be able to do it. If an old IFS torsion bar
ranger can, new bronc would be no problem.
