Sadly, not accessible from front seat. But we have 4 kids and the youngest is 7, not a lot of options. I can get back there pretty quick and have access to it. I have the Ford security cage in the back for when the top is off and we want to keep things secure. Attached the mounting bracket to the cage, and then the safe to it. Nobody can get into the back without the key, or a very considerable amount of time and tools to defeat the cage, and then they would have to get into the safe to get it. I feel pretty confident that the gun is safe from children, and thieves.

This is kind of an adjacent topic - has anyone mounted a long gun in their Bronco yet?

Toying with the idea of something like this - though with a hard mount. Not a fan of the hanging MOLLE panels in thie pic. https://www.odsgear.com/product/leo-locking-rifle-rack-15-25-x-25in/
This was my solution. I know it’s not exactly a secure option but, this will be mainly used when I go camping (mainly dispersed camping in remote areas). Since I sleep in the Bronco, this mounting area is easily accessible.

I made this out of 6061-T6 aluminum (.250”) and used the factory inserts on top of the roll bar to mount the bracket. I used a cheap AR mount off of amazon for the attaching the rifle.

Thanks @RustysBronco! I have thought about taking to a local machine shop to see what they would charge to reproduce it but, I’m not sure how many people would be interested in it because it’s definitely not a secure solution, which I’m sure most people would want.

you could add some type of locking clamps for security.

Although it's not actually secure, it's in such an unusual spot that I doubt anyone would look there. I wouldn't carry it there everyday, but I'd trust it for backwoods use or even grabbing a beer after shooting.
