I have no intention of tuning the 2.7 engine if I go that route. I was only thinking about tuning the smaller one if I decided to go with a manual.

Upgrade to 2.7 with a questionable automatic? If ford would officially say what is really going on. If not I will play it safe with a manual.
The manual is bashed worst than the 10R60 because it's a Chinese-built Getrag that blows up in the Mustang.

Can't win for losing in this place. Lol

isn't the 60 supposed to be better than the 80? Less harsh and sloppy shifts? I have the 80 in my f150 and it's a little sloppy sometimes.

The 10R60 in my Explorer ST was a little jerky at low speeds or in stop-and-go traffic when I first got it, while it was still learning. Smooth now. No complaints now.

I love how all the people getting a completely untested Chinese MT are bashing the AT without any evidence it is inferior.
We are all taking a big gamble here on the Bronco, no matter what transmission, engine, trim, etc. you pick.
It's the price you pay for being an early adopter.

A manual transmission is donkey simple and usually quite rugged,that auto is complicated ,over sensored, and i doubt it will last the life of the truck did i say expensive too.
I hear ya though first year model always a bad idea all around hope ford is good with the warranty.

I'll be sticking with the 2.7L, and the 10 speed. The 10R60 will be just fine in the Bronco.

Exactly. I have no clue what people are concerned about, and, to be honest, I dont think they do either.

Ford understands that it will be a huge failure if this vehicle is in any way disappointing. I would imagine it is attempting to make everything as best as it possibly can including the transmission choice.

There is a possibility, especially since the aftermarket has addressed the strength of the 10R60, that Ford may have also made changes to the 10R60 to beef it up internally. I don't know if they have, but that is a remote possibility.
