I'm looking at the wide variety of rock sliders available out there for the Bronco, and based on my experience so far, I really wonder if some of them are effective.
In my region, much of the rocks I experience are stones or boulders that might be big, but also might be just small enough to get caught into the ladder frame designs that I see out there.
I see designs that assume you will be passing a rock, and need to get kicked away from it by the slider. But how about those rocks you drive over your tire? Often when you come down you'll come down onto the rock. And I'd hate to have the ladder get caught up in there.
Has anyone ran into that issue? I feel like those designs work best around big rocks like you run into in Arizona and Utah.
I'm curious to hear some feedback from people actually getting out there and putting their rock sliders to use.
Here are some designs:
RCI has struts welded in to support the hoop.
SRQ - has those strength plates welded in.
