Just an opinion. Soft tops just don’t look as good as hard. Plus they are a lot more common. Get a hard top and order a soft to have both options.

We were in this situation (also NorCal) and switched to the soft top. I actually really like it. I think I prefer the soft top now. Bought a Gearshade mesh top as a layer and I am super happy with that / soft top combo on it.

Personally don't think a security with the soft tip is any different from a hardtop. They want to grap something they will still break the glass lol
Have you seen the soft top in person? It's velcroed on. We were able to just stick our arm right into the Bronco. No thanks. I'll wait for the hard top.

I wanted the Shadow Black Mod top, but settled for the soft top, for only two reasons, to get it built in 2021, because the color I chose was not going to be offered in 2022, and that was AMB. I will say Im pleasantly surprised at how much Im enjoying throwing up the soft top on the way home from work. The wife is even pleasantly surprised. That Antimatter Blue is amazing!!

Does anyone have an up-to-date list of aftermarket options for hard top?

I know ADV is … sometime soon. But is there anyone else launching one any time on the near future?

It’s even easier to reach in with the top off!! Couldn’t give me a hard top.

Never wanted a soft only but it was worth it for being able to drive it the last 7-8 months. I like the top a lot more than I expected. Not really in a rush to get a hard top for now.

I do miss having a rear wiper/defrost in the winter. And its more delicate to take care of. (Plastic window scratches, stains on fabric, plastic clips). But 100% happy overall.
This. It’s my first soft top/convertible. From what I experienced in the 90s with Wranglers and their zipper windows, the heft of the Bronco soft top structure surprised me. And after the first few weeks I honestly forget about the rear wrinkled windows. They function as blind spot windows. 🤷‍♂️ The extra care needed to clean them is the bigger concern. And yes soft top ownership does have me back to manual car washes but… I’m driving my Bronco.

At this point I’m glad to have taken the soft top.

At that point anything valuable or things you don’t want taken are removed. Never had a problem with my Jeep (hardtop) when the top and doors were off.

Being “forced” to switch to a soft top is the best thing that could have happened. I love it. I would have regretted getting a hard top every single day when the weather is decent. It’s an open air 4x4, with the best open air driving experience on the planet. If you don’t take advantage of that…the vehicle is not nearly as good as if you do.

I do wish we could send out a memo to all the thieves:

"Hey, you there, you don't have to slash our expensive windows! You can totally remove the side windows in less than a minute with no tools at all. Just take what you want, and leave the windows so I can put them back in. Thank you.

PS... Burn in hell, you scum bag."
