Like many of you, one day a want the badlands and the next day I want the wildtrak.. I personally am not a rock climbing guy, however, I love the way the badlands looks and the functional exterior /interior. I have been thinking of going with the wildtrak because it is ”meant“ for someone like me. Or not??

I have been reading over and over on how much better the Wildtrak is in Baja style Environment then the Badlands. I got it. It Comes with a manual with a 2.3L.
However, if you upgrade a Badlands to 2.7 and keep the 33” All terrain tires, would it be at least the same in regards to desert running?

Keep in mind, if I go with the Badlands, I would stay with 33” and upgrade to 2.7. I’m I losing out on something other then the “sport mode”?

I would love to know what you guys think on this. Thanks!

Ive always liked the Wildtrak much better than the Badlands.

I have done a bunch of rock-crawling, am over it, and would like to do more high speed stuff.

And I think the WT just look a lot better. But, Im going with a BD, cuz money and Ill probably never get out west to do anything like that.

Go for the Wildtrak.

In any race I would pick the more experienced driver who has done the trail most often.

All things being equal I would probably go Wildtrack if a Baja race.

have not seen any evidence at all that makes the wild track stand out other than some driving mode

For Joe-6-pack driver modes probably can work. I imagine a real race driver would find them annoying and limiting on the abuse they can dish out on the machine.

The only real difference would be gearing and tire size right? Badlands should be 33's and 4.46? WT will be 35's and 4.70. Assuming a few unknowns, the smaller tire should accelerate/decelerate faster for the same amount of force, so I would guess the Badlands would be faster in a drag race, after that, terrain will determine the outcome.

That is my thinking as well. Thanks!

The Wildtrak/Sasquatch has an almost 2" wider track width which would increase stability in corners and the bigger tires will have better traction.
