But, they are not true 35s because 315s are 34.4 inches tall, 12.5 inches wide. If i get 35s I want true to size 35s like a Nitto Ridge Grappler which is an X/T tire in 35X12.5R17. Don't jip me Ford by calling 315s 35s! And before anyone says anything, yes, you can get true to size tires that are the size they say they are.
Fun fact, 35x12.50 are shorter and skinnier Than 315/70/17.
True to size tires are usually smaller than their metric sized counterparts.

another fun fact is that different manufactures tire will be a slightly different size than other manufacturers in the exact same listed size.

With new wheels, other choices would be 325/65/18 or maybe a real 35in in a 325/60/20.

Tire sizes are all over the place..... In general a 315 will be slightly shorter and slightly wider than a 35. I'll replace mine with the duratracs 315/70/17...Snowflake symbol...Works great up here in Co.

You do realize that true, true to size is exactly what it means. It means a 35 inch tire, measured when fully inflated, is 35 inches and a 12.5 wide is exactly 12.5 inches fully inflated. I have measured my NRGs and they come out exactly to 35x12.5 to the nut hair lol.

And most manufacturers tell you that up front. That’s why I look at actual size to pick my tires and not the numbers stamped on the side.

BFG ko2....
35s may or may not be true 35s...They can be...Sometimes they are....but not always. This is a good comparison. There is no standard. In general they are pretty darn close and the numbers vary from manufacturer to manufacturer...

Well that settles it. You don’t understand and apparently you won’t except feedback or be corrected.
So your saying they are the exact same tire 100%??? Ok got it. No difference whats so ever!! ?

Actually the NRGs in 35x12.50 measures out to 34.7” x 12.5” on their website. Point is, they’re all different. Nitto is one of the few manufacturers that measure out pretty darn close to the number stamped on the side of the tire. They are known to run on the larger side. BFG on the other hand are known to run on the smaller side of average.

go to tire rack and compare the same tire in 35x12.5 vs 315/70/17.

Height difference 34.5 vs 34.4
Section width and tread width are slight larger on the 315.
I understand this. But there is still a difference. Not much but there still is. This was supposed to be a light hearted fun thread just for the hell of it. Some how quickly got turned into a heated debate.

Hey FORD see what happens when you don't put the Build and Price configuration online. We go crazy and fight over tire sizes. ?
