...unless Ford has added transformers for the switches, the voltage would likely not be compatible with the guts of the garage opener. (Unless it runs off a 12V battery, which would be a cumbersome opener indeed). Once the voltage problems were overcome with an additional transformer...
Nitpick:
DC to DC would be a converter, not a transformer. Power electronics, not magnetics. Transformers do nothing for DC voltages.

I went back and forth on this - couldn't find any reason to have more than one or two so I skipped it. Not paying $200 for switches I won't use. Would have been nice to have something with just 2-3 switches, I probably would have added that.

I will use the switches with the labels showed the other thread and a couple others (with sound effects):
1. Flux Capacitor
2. Ejector Seat
3. Anti-Matter Shields Engaged

Kids will love it.

Can somebody answer a stupid question? What could you possibly need 6 auxiliary switches for. I get lights, but what else is there?
hard wired flashlight charger, and hard wired radar detector possibly for me

I agree. I am only getting them because the look cool. Doubt I will ever do much more than fog lights.

I am hoping fogs will be easy to tie into the factory wiring so they come off and on with the light switch key and highbeams like factory fogs. It kinda bugs me the BD doesn't have optional fogs.

Aside from maybe a radio I don't know what else I am going to do with the switches. But after years of really wishing Ford made that option I am hard pressed to not get it.
