Hi. Can anyone comment on the resons why the Bandland options do not include the Tube steps and the hard top sound deadening headliner? Are these physical limitations or can they be added after market?

Thanks

It has rock rails instead. You can replace those and add tube steps if you would like (aftermarket). You can then flip between the two if you would like. Rock Rails for trails and Tube Steps for DD. Should be pretty quick to change out too.

1) Tube steps are a pain offroad (they catch on things), and a bit cheesy on a real off road truck (they look terrible and give the appearance of less ground clearance).

2) It's optional. You have to pony up.

To me, the steps that Ford is offereing, are steps and probably not meant to handle abuse from rocks. The rock sliders will protect the underside of the body but won't do much to prevent a rock sliding down the side of your door. That is where tube steps come into play. I think Smittbuilt makes a set, as do others, that are placed higher, just under the door, that would add better protection, IMO, but kind of useless as steps to be used for ingress by a driver/passenger.

All can be added after the fact.

In the case of the headliner, you can't add some accessories installed at the factory because the ordering system believes it exceeds the vehicle weight restrictions. You very much can order these parts as accessories and install them after you take delivery.

Search the forum for "GVWR" if you want more discussion on it.

⬆ This Regarding tube steps/rock Rails.

and in terms of the sound deadening headliner, you cannot add it to a 4 door BL with Sas and 2.7 due to weight (GVWR) issues but you can order it through parts dept and add it after you get the Bronco. You can add it if getting a 4 door Sas but when you add the 2.7 engine, you have to delete the headliner. Just play with BnP and it will tell you what you can and cannot add the headliner to (minus any site glitches).

Take the rock rails for now.

I am hoping for removable "stirrup" steps like the SEMA build (maybe with a little drop down to them though).

From my Rubicon body mounted rock rail experience: better to wait for the aftermarket frame mounted slider options, and pick one that sticks out enough to act as a step too. Maybe even bolt on removable steps if your lift is too high for kids or wife.

Those tube steps are no more that decorations that won't take any punishment.

headliner comes in two ways both require $. its a separate line item or comes with High Package. Like most you can always add it later from Ford if it causes issues on GVWR build restrictions.

They are not included so they can charge for them as optional equipment. It's the same reason the Lux package isn't standard on the Base.

Only in the four-door, though. In the two-door, you can order-up without issues.

The sound-deadening headliner does not come with the High package. That is sound-deadening in the body. If someone wants the sound-deadening headliner, it needs to be ordered as the stand-alone option, in which case, I would recommend getting both High (or Lux) and the headliner. It would suck to block out the noise from one place only to hear it from another.

Badlands is billed by Ford as the Bronco for "Extreme Offroading". Why on Earth, or any other planet for that matter, would anyone want tube steps on the "off road" version of their Bronco? I'm surprised it doesn't come with a blow dryer hard-wired into the dash and moisturizing lotion dispenser that gets refilled at every oil change. Should have a massaging chair in the back too. fer f'sake
