Because the 4 door most closely matches the size of my 96 FSB.

I suspect the 2 door more closely matches the size of the Original Bronco's though. Still really up to everyones personal choices.

Now that you posted this....I was supposed to get a 96, but didn't come off of probation quick enough before they were discontinued. Plus, need room for road trips and going out with other couples.

I’ve been on fence for a while - I drive kids to school and all that jazz. Wife and I talked this morning and decided on 2 door. She ruled out taking it for family trips, so that’s that.

Where to start.....
-Higher residual value
-MUCH easier for potential young humans
-Better ride quality on and off road
-More practical
-Hauls more gear
-It's not your only fun car. Literally all of my other vehicles are two-door (F-100, Ranger, and Miata) which all effectively seat two people and I'd like to have SOMETHING that can carry four since I don't want to get rid of those three.

anyone with toddlers going with a 2 door? I have a 2 year old daughter but I love the look of the 2 door so much more. I may one day have another child so I am not sure if I should get the thought of the 2 door out of my head or not.

My wife drives a 2 door wrangler with a 3 year old and a 1 year old. It is possible but I would not recomend it.

I originally selected the 2 door Base simply because its such a great value at around $4700 cheaper than the 4 door Base its very tempting. Having said that, the practicality of the 4-door is very appealing, escpeically considering I have 3 young kids. I just dont think its worth a $4700 premium.

Fundamental question here - why go 4-door unless you have to? I’m a family man and we can have only one car because we live in a dense city, parking in a ramp where I’m entitled to only the spot that I own.

if I had no kids, if I could get my own toy instead of having to share with my wife, there’s no way I’d get a 4-door. I’d be 2-door, all the way. I just think it looks tons cooler, it’s apparently more nimble on the trail, and it just screams “this is my dude vehicle, with just enough room for a girl by my side and my dog in the back. Or maybe vice versa.”

Honestly I love both of them. I think I’m going with the four door because I’m getting two. One for my daughter who wants the four door. I’m planning on getting her the modular hard top and my the soft top. That way for the next three years until she leaves for college we can share tops.
