Now that we know that there is no way they will fulfill a 2021 reservation placed today, tomorrow, etc..., why is Ford even accepting reservations for a 2021? Personally, I just wish Ford would start out with MY22 Bronco's with deliveries mid to late next year. Just run 'em all for MY22.

It is a public traded company so shareholders expect it. And what happens if everyone with a current reservation decided to cancel it?

What's the downside for them in taking more reservations? Dealers get $100, Ford gets a valuable list of future customers, Ford stops (in some cases) consumers from buying a competitors car because they're waiting for a Bronco.

I'm not saying to stop reservations, but merely stating that there's no way that they can deliver a 2021 Bronco that's reserved this late. Why not just change the link to a 2022 Bronco?

Basically a $100 upfront money with no interest for them to start building vehicles. They can use the numbers of reservations to obtain other funding as needed to build orders. Some may cancel and get their $100 back, but Ford had that hundo for a while interest free to use. <-- Just my thoughts.

The build and price is obviously for 2021 Broncos. But a reservation is for a 2021 or a 2022 as stated in the terms.

They don’t know conversion rates. Just like they don’t know when late availability options will be fully available until they have orders converted. They will then have the numbers needed. There are no statistics on this vehicle because it is brand new. If they started with a run of first editions only to get the ball rolling they probably would have been able to satisfy those customers and be further ahead.

They've been reserving 2022s since September 18th.

Does it actually specify model year at all in the reservation terms? Says deliveries will start in 2021 and extend into 2022 calendar year, never says exactly what model year all those deliveries will be or when the cutoff/change is. They could keep making them 2021 model year for months into 2022. They could also not make any 2021 model year ones if they really wanted as well, just start them as MY2022 in June 2021(doubt that but hey they could). Heck they could make all the First Editions the only 2021 model year broncos, then make all the rest 2022. Sure ford expects them to be 2021 model year, but they also expected to start making them this past summer not next summer.

Here is an excerpt from my confirmation email from Ford:
We received your reservation and deposit payment for an exciting new 2021 Ford Bronco. You’re about to experience the wild with the power and capability of one of our most anticipated off-road vehicles.
