Why Is Ford Still Taking 2021 Reservations?

I spoke to Ford Customer Service and they told me 2021 reservation will not transfer to 2022 automatically and a new 2022 reservation would need to be made when the 2022 B&P opens up. I am not sure how confident I am in the girl from Ford who conveyed this information because she, herself, sounded like she had no idea what she was talking about. She was working from home and I could hear that her smoke detector battery was dead. ::BEEEEP!::

It makes sense that a "reservation" would not transfer over... I'm def curious what the process will be to transfer over orders placed. I'm hopeful orders will automatically transfer over.

Our Bronco specialist told us all we would have to do is reconfirm our order and she resubmitted it. You shouldn't lose your place in line.

One of the Ford communications to dealers stated that they weren't yet sure how they were going to handle the change over to MY22 and would advise on the process in the future... reading between the lines in the memo you could really tell a lot of people at FoMoCo are scrambling to figure out what they are going to do to make it work and have already developed headaches over it.

I expect it's not much different than the conversion-without-consent fiasco where they had to go in by hand to change timestamps after replacement reservations were made....

....it's not a question about *whether* Ford will roll over our reservations and maintain ranking... it's a question about who's headache it's going to end up being in the end to make it happen.

So if you do a reservation today and Priority 99 with your dealer, does that lock in 2021 pricing on MY22 ?

No - only converted orders before 3/19 are protected.

Now that we know that there is no way they will fulfill a 2021 reservation placed today, tomorrow, etc..., why is Ford even accepting reservations for a 2021? Personally, I just wish Ford would start out with MY22 Bronco's with deliveries mid to late next year. Just run 'em all for MY22.

If they have orders that meet commodity availability they will be build. The assembly line needs to continue rolling to keep the Broncos rolling out and the money rolling in. Reservation time stamp be damned. Just business.

Why, they don't need to until they actually announce the MY22 options. A reservation isn't an order so it doesn't matter at all what you reserve.

Ah. It seemed like it was for a specific model year when I made my reservation, but it was awhile ago now so maybe I am not recalling correctly.

It doesn't matter what I reserved, there is zero chance for me to get a 2021 because my order won't be even be submitted until 9/13/21 at the earliest when 2022 order banks open. My dealer already confirmed that.

It could have been the smoke detector or sometimes it's the sound of the call being recorded.
