Why is the 2.7 tuned down HP wise in the Bronco compared to other Ford/Lincoln models?

It could be a less efficient air intake design meant to keep water out of the intake. Also exhaust could be a factor.

For God's sake people, these are modern turbocharged engines. It is all in the boost map that the factory writes. All this talk about cam timing and exhaust routing is moot when discussing this engine. The engine is the same as the 2.7 in an F-150. It makes less power and torque in the Bronco because that is what marketing said to have it make.

Yep and it’s a simple tune away from a nice addition of power. The same engine but the exhaust or intake setup can take away some of the power potential. Whatever that looks like aftermarket will also have a nice solution to free up breathing and aid in power increase as well. We have to also remember we are looking at preliminary numbers stated by Ford. We haven’t seen the fuel economy ratings either and these numbers will factor in to the final power figures Ford tunes the Bronco with.

As said by a few members here a simple air induction being a tighter fit with a shorter exhaust system = a shorter power band versus a truck set up .

Bigger turbo, tune, downpipe, and intake will work just fine for me.

Two turbos actually. You can get decent gains with the stock turbos
