Why isn't Tow Package offered on Base?

It's irritating because I want a base and to use a rear cargo carrier. I guess I'll have to install one myself.

On the BL, I can get Towing Capability to add, but only if i add an accessory that requires the hitch receiver. But then removing said accessory, like the extension ($79) also removes the Towing Capability.

I am wondering this also. Has Ford confirmed what the tow package consist of? If it is only the receiver hitch and a wiring harness we should be able to add this rather easily. Any dashboard enhancements should be unlockable using Forscan.

I assume one issue may be gearing however if we jump up to Sasquatch we will have that covered.

Ford always showed that tow package is not available on the Base (except in the pricing survey). The tow capacity of the base is the same as any other model so you just have to add a hitch and wiring.

It’s not available on the Base for the same reason things like Mid Pkg aren’t on Base - they want you to buy higher trim levels.

That's what i'ven been reading as well. no trans cooler or brake controller. Which is expected, considering you only get 3500# towing capacity right?
