I’m really confused as to why Ford wouldn’t just bring their Everest SUV here and call it the Bronco Sport. It’s also based on the Ranger and as such would have parts interchangeability and is such a better looking rig than the Sport. And like the Ranger, they build it overseas with a diesel and manual. Why Ford? Why don’t we get all the stuff here? It would be a legitimate alternative for those who want the capability but aren’t interested in the open air experience or retro style.

?I thought you were complaining about Ford not sending the Bronco to conquer Mount Everest!?

It's a higher price point than an escape based CUV is my bet

People that want a CUV may not need or want their car to be truck like

People buy RAV4 and crv in huge numbers, not because of their off road chops or tough image

I'd be in to replace my Explorer with the Everest, but I'm still in for the Bronco to replace my Jeep.

I assume it's on the old Ranger platform, meaning they'd have to redesign it anyway, and the Michigan plant doesn't have the capacity to build the Ranger, Bronco and Everest, the Bronco Sport will probably be a high volume small crossover, a diesel manual transmission small SUV would be super niche and sell 1/4 as many..... There's zero reason for Ford to even consider it.

Too expensive to build a vehicle overseas and ship it to the US. Sport will be made in Mexico, much cheaper.

The bronco sport looks 10x better and is more feasible to break into the hipster Subaru Outback territory ?

Edit: I stand corrected ..... new Sport interior volume is 105.7cuft w/out sunroof.

Last Escape I rode in was FAR smaller inside than my Outback.....They aiming for Impreza or Forester maybe???
I'm not sure how the new Escape or Sport measures out, but the Outbacks are something like 105cuft interior volume. Which , I think is about where the Broncobronco comes in at.

Thanks for that!! I looked a little , but couldn't find it all packaged nice and neat like what you did.
Just learned the Sport should be about the same size as my Outback, which the wife really likes, but it needs to be replaced ..... soo, I may end up with two Broncs after all! LOL and two payments... notLOL.

You’ve probably got a point about the hipster market but I gotta disagree on the looks. The Sport looks like a smaller 4 door Transit.
