So checking with my backup dealer....(I'm 8/14 reserve), I'm in the 60th percentile....I'd need Ford to build 150k Broncos before I come up. So I'm wondering, why bother? If they believe they can only build 70k from May-Dec....I'm a year and a half! from seeing mine. Feeling sad. Hope I'm not too old to get the top and doors off.

I'm a 8/24 res so I was always expecting delivery at least 6-9 months after production starts. The allocation news doesn't appear to change my wait time, there's just the longer wait due to the covid delay of a few months.
Getting our orders in now helps Ford to:
- better estimate order conversion rate, and total units needed.
- determine demand for options, so Ford can inform their suppliers.

There will be a second round of allocations after this initial round. I'll guess it will be announced a few months before MY22 production starts, so maybe late summer 2021.
Both your 8/6 and my 8/24 could potentially get called in for MY2021 if:
- order conversions are very low,
- production rate exceeds estimates,
- or if our build combo gets moved ahead of others.

By NOT putting in your order now, it will cost you your place in line, likely bumping your delivery 9 months or more into the future..... like 2023.

I figure by ordering mine now, (hi demand 2 dr 2.7 Squatch) by the time my order gets reviewed, the MY22 options will be known and I may be able to order something I like better. It also gives me nearly a year to change my mind.

Yeah, that's kinda what I'm figuring, too...but you need to modify your delivery expectations. I think we're July 2022 sad to say. Here: if they figure 70k builds May-Dec, it'll take six more months to get to us in the 60th percentile. I figure we're 150k builds back in line.

I'll order so it's in regardless

7/14, but who knows where my dealer ranks. I remember ordering my old Mustang before memorial day and getting her after Labor day, so whats a few extra months?

Only a problem when said extra months are in winter of '22

All depends on dealer allocation and build scheduling. Some early reservations aren’t going to be built and some late ones will. It’s all a crapshoot as to who does and does not get a Bronco this year.

I'd say we're (August res) closer in line that that. There were 165,000-ish reservations by the end of July. So, figure 175k in August..... but they're reservations not orders. I'm guessing order conversions will be closer to 50% than Ford's allocation estimates of 70%(or 100%?).
There may only be 85k builds ahead of us, we could see first qtr of 2022.

Well you've calculated a "year and a half" off a 1/2 year production scale, Ford lost months due to COVID so this isn't a full production year. That said, yeah you should drop the reservation even though Ford has only said mid-September reservations are definitely 2022s. ;)

You are assuming a high conversion rate of reservations to order.
190k reservations and my guess 50% convert to orders... and that I believe still might be high...
I would convert your res to order.. way to many variables to speculate on delivery

And I meant 7/2022.....yeah, they're aiming at 10k per month this year. Surely that can and will increase. But if that holds...July 22 for that next allocation.

I bet conversion rates on these will be higher than most previous...this has some zing.

Undecided
In my humble opinion, there will be Broncos available for retail sale on dealers' lots. People will order and then back out when the vehicle arrives. It is going to happen.

Now, the dealers may want a premium price for the inventory Broncos, so people will have to decide if they want to overpay to be one of the first to get a Bronco.

Personally, I want to drive one before I make a decision on which model I want.

Nope

Maybe on this forum because we are diehards but the average public much like today’s society has the attention span of a dog chasing a squirrel...
Many have moved on already..
