The design team was probably more worried about the acceptable number of exposed threads hanging from the lower control arms than they were about matching trim.Maybe this doesn't bug too many in here but why would the design team put a chrome emblem on a vehicle with all black trim? I don't know why I'm just now pondering this after seeing the black first editions. Lugnuts and trim rings as well.....
And Stickerfab now has a wheel cap overlayI feel the same about the chrome lug nuts on the BD. Stupidly, I ordered the wheel lock kit before I thought about the fact that they are chrome and the wheels are black. Haven't paid for those wheel locks yet but they've been ordered and should be at the dealership already. When I pickup my Bronco and pay for the other accessories I ordered, I'm going to ask if we can just skip the wheel locks. They should be able to hold them and sell to the next person that wants them, but if they push for me to buy them, I probably will since I asked them to order it. The chrome bucking bronco in the center of the wheel does help balance out the chrome lug nuts, so not a huge deal I guess.
Just checked it out. The black on black overlay is pretty awesomeAnd Stickerfab now has a wheel cap overlay
Looks great. How’d you cut it so precise to the outline? Can of matte black plasti-dip fixes it. Do about 5 coats and use a toothpick to loosen the edges after.
It’s part of the Heritage trim, along with vacuum wipers, three on the tree and drum brakes.Lol. Where's my v8?
I got as close as I could with tape and paper. If I did it again I would actually just tape a square around the emblem and overspray it. Plasti dip comes off easily. It was hard to get some off with the toothpick because my overspray areas were so small. Just overspray and pull it off after. It will break off at the air gap at the emblem.Looks great. Did you do the Ford logo as well?
Yep. No need to buy a replacement rear black Bronco emblem. $5 can of plasti-dip is the way to go if you want a matte or gloss black bucking Bronco. Can of matte black plasti-dip fixes it. Do about 5 coats and use a toothpick to loosen the edges after.
Well if it had chrome rims this wouldn't be bothering me as much.It is a young persons thing. Vehicles with black rims remind me of old dudes wearing Bermuda shorts and sandals while donning black calf high socks. Us geezers prefer the shiny chrome look. Lol
