Wasn't sure where to post this at, but this area looked correct?

A couple weekends ago, my wife and I finally got to take both Broncos off-roading. She wanted to start off easy, so we meet up with some folks from the local Bronco group and went riding. Nothing too crazy, couple of nice water crossings and a few washouts throughout the 15 miles of trails in the Preserve. As long as we've both lived in Alabama, we've never gone to this trail....

Anyway, we went to Little River Canyon Back Country Preserve. It's the numbered longer dotted lines in the pic below.

Didn't get a ton of pics, as the group leader didn't stop a lot, but the water crossing were pretty cool and one of them is where I found the rock for my avatar

We're going to another new to us offroad park in TN this weekend! I've got about 10 years of offroading experience and she always rode shotgun. I'm proud of her wanting to learn how to offroad herself. I'll post pics of our ride this weekend in a few days :)

Now make her go fast on the trails! haha
Negative!

Warning, short rant incoming: We're not the type of people for doing that kind of driving/riding, we have the money, but I don't want to repair something that would've been fine, if not doing something stupid, if/when the Bronco's break. Most of our money went into buying both Bronco's and installing all the upgrades we bought, myself... We're too old to tear stuff up for no reason. We just want to go enjoy nature/trail riding

I really like what you’ve done with both rigs, but I gotta say, the bumper on your green one is the thickest bumper I think I’ve ever seen. I’m sure it’s bomb proof, but what’s dry weight on that thing?

Thanks man! I dunno why people always say something about my bumper, LOL!

Side story incoming: I got it, because I saw an LoD ad on Facebook when I had my Jeep and said to myself, "Wow, those look like solid/capable bumpers!" So, when I got the Bronco, that was one of the first things I ordered! I don't care for the way the OEM bumper sits flush with the grille (I like the Wrangler OEM bumper better than the Bronco's) and I don't like how most aftermarket front bumpers look on the Bronco, by "look", I mean the way they're designed. They poke out for the winch, then tamper off the the fenders, similar to the one on my wife's Yellow one. It's also nice when I'm doing something under the hood, I can sit my phone or tools on the "wings" :)

To answer you question about dry weight, 110lbs and it felt much lighter than the DV8 bumper (@ 58lbs) that my wife chose for hers. I guess due to the way you install them. Mine was mounted in individual pieces. I was actually going to order the same one she had, until I had to assemble it and mount it to her Bronco... Her DV8 was such a PITA to install and took hours, over my LoD bumper!

Nice to see that second-gen showing the kids how it's done.
I like old Bronco's, just not that body style, per say! He struggled to keep up with the rest of us and had an awful time with the carb on that thing... Every time we stopped, he had the hood up and all you smelled was raw fuel or burnt fuel, depending on where we stopped. He would drive downhill and all you heard was revving up in the back of the pack, trying to keep it running to get back uphill...

I was just thinking about these wheels and what made this guy come to off-road trail.

@Mirage The trucks look great. Some of my favorite 2-doors & I'm not a fan of the EG in general, but love the way yours came out 🤠 .

Now make her go fast on the trails! haha
Youtube is full of that nonsense if that is what you are looking for 😏

110# isn’t bad. And yeah, I’d continually forget setting my coffee mug down on it. Way too inviting looking. Haha. I really like how yours give a nod to Gen1’s modded with wide tires on white dishes. You have a perfect amount of poke I think. Did you add spacers for that? Different offset on new rims? Or is it simply wider tires..

Yes, I hate those wheels! Even his wife hates them! He said he loves them, but I say hell no! I told him, if you do a lot of off-roading, you won't have them much longer, LOL!
